Excel

This research will explore the database functions for Excel. Excel is a program which produces electronic spreadsheets which are applied for manipulating, storing and organizing information. The qualities of data which may be manipulated, stored and organized by Excel are formulas, numbers and text. The cell is the basic unit which is applied for storing the information which is kept on a spreadsheet. A few of the Excel functions will be detailed.  The aspects of Average, Product, Minimum, Maximum, Count and Sum in the Excel spreadsheet electronic program will be explored in this research paper (Blattner 4; Held 4; Shelly EX 7).

Average

In the application of Excel, the averaging function provides the median value for all of the numerical values which are included in a list on a database. This mean is founded upon a specific standard. The language which must be input into the program in Excel is demonstrated by applying the word AVERAGE, putting a capital D in front and following by the left parenthesis, database, comma, field, comma, criteria and a closed right parenthesis. The database is the scope of cells which is representative of the comprehensive database. The column which is applied in order to find the average of the values is known as the whole database (Blattner 160; Held 133; Shelly EX 84).
