Philosophy

The aim for all students is to perfect learning by engaging in hands on learning to ensure that they are prepared for the work force. To accomplish the growing needs in our community, students are provided the opportunity to select a specialty to study in addition to their core subjects that will enhance their ability to be accepted into a career or training program of their choice. Our school is dedicated to developing the diverse interests of students in a manner that will allow them to be competitive in the workforce.

Students to be Served

The school accommodates the needs of a large range of students. Individuals who are able to master academic subjects and wish to continue onto collegiate learning will be provided with the opportunity to take courses for college credit while enrolled. Furthermore, students who wish to enter a vocation immediately upon graduation will be provided the opportunity to specialize in a variety of programs, including aerospace maintenance, cosmetology, and medical technology. Students with special needs will be provided with supermarket and stock room training in a manner that will allow them to operate relevant computerized systems.

Curriculum

Students will engage in academic studies by learning how to conduct research in order to keep up with a changing understanding of knowledge. Focus will be on the use of technology and personal practices to increase comprehension of science, technology, mathematics, and engineering in addition to demonstrating practical applications of this knowledge (Engler, 2012). These studies will be bolstered by gaining an understanding of social studies and English skills in a manner that focuses on a critical interpretation of facts. All subjects will be taught practically so that students will be able to apply these skills to real world life and work situations. All students will be provided with digital textbook copies for each of their subjects, available to download on laptops, cell phones, and tablets. Furthermore, all work will be submitted electronically through e-mail or Google drive, which will allow teachers to edit and return assignments easily.

Administrative/Faculty and Staff

The focus of the administration will be determining how to ensure that each specialty is tailored in a manner that helps each student progress in their chosen discipline. Furthermore, the administration will lead technology leaders in order to ensure that technology support is provided to all teachers to ensure that the available equipment is being used to maximally to enhance education (Nagel, 2010). Faculty and staff will be responsible for implementing the curriculum in a manner that addresses the individualized needs of students by contributing their expertise in the design and implementation of lessons.

Parental Involvement

Parents will continuously be consulted to determine the technology that students have available in their homes and the school will provide consultation services to help parents determine how the equipment could be acquired at reasonable prices. Furthermore, the school will hold regular workshops to help walk parents through the types of assignments that are given so that they are able to assist their children with their homework if necessary.

Projected Careers for the Year 2025

According to the federal governments of many first countries around the world, a majority of jobs available in 2025 will be in the STEM field. Among these are tissue engineers, gene programmers, producers of genetically modified foods, data miners, remote IT staff, generators of personalized news content, and computer technicians (Houston-Galveston Area Council, 2003).
