Modify a Speaker’s Speech, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 267

Essay

This speaker demonstrated magnificence in delivery and modification of his speech for students at my level to interpret and grasp the message he was presenting. His introduction was brief and lively. This speech onset provided a tone that engaged the audience from the speaker’s first word. A very effective modification strategy that was used by this renowned American Ambassador to Saudi Arabia was his transparency in telling us that this was his first speaking assignment to students in our capacity. Immediately, he developed compatibility with the audience that made everyone comfortable in his presence while anticipating delivery of a superb speech.

However, the delivery was unmatchable from my student’s perspective. The ambassador was excited in relating to us portions of a well-organized speech he felt was appliable for students entering the world of work. In his articulation he reinforced many issues by clarifications from a power point. For example, when speaking about his career as a professor in New York he allowed us to view the city from the power point he was carrying.

Many other illustrations were given by Dr. Joseph Westphal. They were interspersed with lively humor. Throughout the entire speech there was no dull moment. The message was delivered with eloquence in his American accent. Consequently, it can be concluded that the talk was of a very high quality delivered in similar context. Interestingly, he kept the audience fully engaged from beginning to end allowing us to participate in the conversation asking questions for clarification.  The ambassador addressed a low audience. In concluding, he expressed jubilation in our acceptance of his speech and enjoying the exchange.
