Background Summary
The field of tourism continues to develop. The way people travel and enjoy their vacations have already changed its face through the years. One of the specific changes that have relatively affected such field of human travel options is the increased demand for convenience among individual and couple travelers. Through this change in demand, the transportation industry needs to keep up with the possibility of responding to the desire of the target clients in the market. Giving the travelers a chance to ease out with their transfer options while they are touring, the need to create a transportation option that fits their specific need is important. For this particular plan, the creation of a touring motorcycle is proposed to be imposed. The said process is seen to ease out the process of travelling among tourists especially in relation to getting the best and most comprehensive transportation option that they could use for their travels during their tour.
Motorcycle is considered as a specifically practical and general type of transportation that individuals and couples could take into account when they are trying to pick the right kind of transport that could bring them to places the fastest and the most practical way. Relatively, for this particular project, several matters need to be given attention to, especially when it comes to the distinct way of manipulating resources to be able to rich the goals that have been stipulated to create a more distinct process to serve the desires of the market while also generating profit for the organization involved.
Project Management Operations
In this section of the presentation, a concentration on the different elements that need to given attention to in relation to the project being managed shall be given specific consideration. Three primary sectors of the project shall be presented herein:
Manpower Needed for the Project
What the company needs are individuals who are experts when it comes to manufacturing motors. What is different in this project however is that of the fact that the motors of the motorcycles should be specialized thus allowing the final products to withstand the pressure of lengthened travels as well as the differing pressures of having the need to travel on different terrains especially if the said transport options are to be used on rural and less developed areas.
The option of manufacturing larger motors seems to be a good solution to the matter. However, with such a consideration in mind, the need to consider larger body structures for the motors also needs to be given attention to. This then calls for several experts who are noted for their capacity to create sleek design of motorcycle body that would be able to contemplate with larger frames that are need to support the utilization of larger motors on the said choices of transportation.
Innovation is also a specific consideration for creators of such forms of transport. Not only should the motorcycles be strong and sleek in design, they should be able to contend with the pressures being priced at a competitive rate against other motorcycles with regular features for travel. The insertion of gadgets and automatic programs to make the management of the vehicle more practical for the users would of course improve the reputation of the motorcycle being created as it makes the market. Hence, innovators and high tech experts could also be included in the list of staff members to join the project management team for this particular plan.
Team Building Strategies
Since the approach to the production is new, it is important the people would have a better understanding over the role that they play in the development and their capacity to become agents who bring change to the way tourism is recognized around the globe today and in the future. Hence, to entice the people to work further and perform better in line with the conditions of development noted in this particular project, here are some strategies that are designed to build up team competence in performing the tasks they are assigned to complete within a specifically define schedule.
Team Orientation
This operation involves the need to educate the team members about the project. Having chosen the experts in their own field of mobile development is good, but it is not enough to sustain the developments being embraced in this project. Notably, the need to help the members contemplate with what the project is about and what role are they taking in relation to it are very important in drawing the line for success. People who know what they are doing and what their role is in a specific project are motivated at a much higher rate of concern on how they are able to complete assigned tasks within the practical due time that they are asked to perform the said assignments.
Performance-Based Rewards
Good work needs to be recognized. During the pursuance of the project, it is important that good works get recognized accordingly thus motivating the whole team to work their way out to contribute to the process at a much better rate than expected. Practical goals should be set for each individual and such goals ought to be defined accordingly depending on their fields of competence. This will allow them to recognize achievements better hence making it easier for them to gain the recognition they deserve.
Aimed at creating healthy competition among members of the team, it should be carefully considered that this approach be handled in a balanced manner thus avoiding the possibility of creating commotion and intent jealousy among members included in the project. To do so, it is important to create reachable and practical policies that the team members would be able to work with in an impartial manner compared to what the other team members are able to accomplish in their own fields of expertise.
Quota Commission System
Based on the quality and quantity of products produced between the team members, it is important that the project manager be able to give incentives and rewards [commission] to those who are able to reach a specific quota of production within a specific target time. Relatively, this allows the distinction on how performance between team members could provide a better sense of success that shall define a distinct achievement towards the project’s completion.
The Project Manager
Attention to Details
The project manager who is to handle this project-plan is supposed to have a concentrated attention to details as he is supposed to make sure that every aspect of the project, especially relating to the research that defines client demands and how the team is to respond to such demands through creating new generation motorcycles, are controlled and directed accordingly.
Focus to Schedule
Every task has a due date; following such schedule is important to make sure that the project is able to take on the value of importance that it is supposed to provide the organization with. The clarity of the project manager’s mind and approach to making sure that the schedule is followed accordingly shall allow the whole team a chance to embrace the need to follow the time-table while being flexible at times when particular emergencies occur.
Capacity to handle Risks
Given that the product being prepared is new, there are risks to take on to account. The project manager to handle this plan needs to be specifically able to handle such risks and work around them accordingly. The schedule set for the team to complete would of course have risks, knowing such possibilities and creating alternative options of resolution for such occurrences would make the project manager more capable of bringing success to the team.
Work Breakdown
Pricing and Costing Strategy
When it comes to pricing, the team needs to be able to research for practical materials that could be used to make the motorcycles with. Sustainable and eco-friendly materials are best; this would better develop the reputation of the organization who would release the motorcycles in the market to be specifically dependent on the desire to complete their role of responding to environmental protection that businesses in the transport industries need to consider.
Gantt Chart
This chart shall provide a distinct indication on what procedures ought to be taken from the point of research to the point of releasing the launching products of the newly engineered motorcycles in the market.
The time table is considered to be within the span of three months to four months [maximum time allowance]:
Activity | Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 | Week 5 | Week 6 | Week 7 | Week 8 | Third Month |
Market Research | |||||||||
Materials Research | |||||||||
Forming Engineering design for motorcycles
Search and Hiring of Staff
Orientation | |||||||||
Assignment of Tasks | |||||||||
Creation of the frames | |||||||||
Creation of the prototype motorcycles
Quality Testing procedures
Preparation for Launching
Launching of the motorcycles |
Assigned Resources
The team would be divided into three sectors; one for research and innovation design, another for the structuring of the motorcycles and the third section is to be dedicated to the launching and marketing of the newly created motorcycles. The team for structuring motorcycles would actually be the highest numbered group of the team since they do have the hardest responsibilities in the entire process to consider.
Project Finalization
Relatively, it could be understood that the project is dependent on the manner by which the motorcycles are able to respond to the demand of the market that the organization wants to serve. The directive manipulation of resources as well as that of the manpower to respond to the said demands could provide a good standing for the entire team as they create a new aspect of transportation that would fit the needs of the target market; thus directly contributing to the evolution of the changing face of international and domestic tourism around the globe at present and even towards the future.
