  1. What unique combination of three (3) or four (4) intelligences marks your intellectual identity and how did you arrive at this awareness?

According to Gardener, there are about nine intelligences which are a reflection of the psych-biological potential of human beings. They may either be recognized or not and individuals can develop the potential they have depending on their experience, their culture and their intentions. Each person has a unique combination of two or three or four intelligences but to meet these potentials one needs the work of the individual, others and the person’s environment. The combinations which make my intellectual identity are the linguistic intelligence, logical–math intelligence and music intelligence

Linguistic intelligence is centered on language, the ability make grammatically correct sentences and being able to understand hard words used in language rarely. I am good in communication, I can write grammatically correct sentences and English exams have never been a problem to me. I can summarize paragraphs containing incoherent words and sentences.

Logical math intelligence is an intelligence type which covers a broad area of intelligence compared to liquistics. It involves a fascination with number, time, patterns, models, calculations and statistics. It is the scientific form of intelligence which is concerned with calculations. I realized that I had this intelligence in my early years from my parents who used to tell me that I will be a scientist. I was very good in mathematics and science subjects and I used to like calculations or solving problems which needed thinking rather than memorizing.

Music Intelligence refers to the composing, performing, fascinating and understanding harmony, rhythms, melody and emotions. It is disclosed in a person sometimes by the ability to make poems or production of melodies and sounds of music. I am a musician; I compose poems and make them in a musical mode. Also I play guitar to produce good musical notes. This means that I am talented in music. I also find a lot of joy in hearing of rhythms of melodies. In my early stages of live I was very active in music and many people recognized me as talented in music.

  1. What goals and strategies, including courses in school, have you set in place to develop these skills?

To develop the intellectual skills, one needs a good environment, good people and personal effort. I use English for communication and strive always to communicate in grammatically correct language. I read a lot of novels and consult widely with good English teachers to enable me develop my language skills. I also do a lot of practice in mathematics and always try to solve problems scientifically when they face me. This is aimed at developing my Logic and math intellectual skills. I like listening to music and compose my own music in order to be able to develop my talent. I also read music books and stories of great musicians. Also I always go to live presentations of great musicians with a view of developing my musical skills.

  1. Describe what you will be doing 15 years from now.

Fifteen years from now, I want to be a computer scientist. I would like to be a specialist in computers and be able to solve problems using the computers.

  1. What resources do you have to do #3 above, and what obstacles will you have to overcome?

The resources I have include a computer library at home and access to internet where I can pick the information on computers. The challenges include admission into a university offering computer science degree but I am working hard to ensure that I get a good grade to enable me join a good collage and study computer science.
