Essay

I am here today because I am going to prove that I am adequate enough to be in the Management Development Program. The object which I have chosen in preparation for this speech is the amber stone. I can relate myself to the amber stone academically, professionally, and personally because I am equipped with the characteristics and attributes that it represents.

The first characteristic in the amber stone which I can strongly relate to is the element of positivity. The amber stone helps me to balance my inner emotions. This is a very important characteristic to carry in any line of work because as humans we struggle every day with the various emotions inside of us. There are constant fluctuating feelings of happiness, anger, sorrow, regret, sympathy, and ambition. If we do not assume control and balance of these inevitable emotions, then the work cannot be executed effectively. It is imperative to maintain the positive emotions inside of us, which is the very skill that the amber stone represents. When emotions are properly balance, it enables me to have a clear mind. This gives me a chance to release any negative emotions in a healthy way. These negative emotions must be released from the mind so that they do not build up over time to eventually erupt. Once the negative emotions are released, I am left with the positive energy which I can then apply to my work. My positive energy may then spread to my colleagues and this will enable them to perform their duties in a positive manner as well. There is then a vast spread of positive energy throughout the entire work environment.

This then brings me to the next characteristic that I share with the amber stone. This characteristic is the effective generation and projection of energy from a physical and biological perspective.  The amber stone carries with it many wonderful capabilities that help to fuel the endocrine system. The endocrine system is the biological system of anatomy that controls, regulates, and produces hormones which are responsible for metabolism, moods, and energy. It is important to maintain a healthy life style physically so that work duties can be performed effectively. The amber stone enables me to produce great amounts of energy which I can then apply to not only work but my everyday life.

The final characteristic which the amber stone represents is that of the manifestation of talents. I am continuously coaching my other colleagues so that they are up to par in performing the very best work that is necessary to get the job done. My coaching abilities are an important and profound form of leadership that I can take with me to the Management Development Program. I enjoy being able to share my talents and abilities through coaching because it is a learning experience for my colleagues. Eventually, over enough time, the colleagues whom I am coaching will pick up on the skills and abilities which I have taught them. They can then apply these skills to their work ethics in such a way that they can perform them without me anymore. This then enables them to pass these skills down to the next line of workers making for an effective working environment.

The amber stone is a perfect representation of the talents and abilities which I can bring with me to the Management Development Program as I have demonstrated. I do thank you for your time and hope you consider me.
