Music and Afghanistan, Essay Example

Known to be a large Islamic country, Afghanistan is considered as the cradle of Islamic belief in both Asia and the Middle East. Relatively, the connection that the country has towards the impeccable influence of their religion in their lives has led them to several points of recognition from all around the globe. Nonetheless, it could not be denied that most of the reactive reputation that the country received is laid more on the negative side than that of the positive bearings of their religious and cultural heritage into their system of living. As of today, Afghanistan is relatively known for its chaotic state, a matter that cannot be denied to have influenced the manners by which film and literature try to define the said community.

The year 1991 marked a great impact on how the community of the Afghan people has been recognized by the society since then. It could be analyzed that somehow, the supposed highly traditional and strictly religious culture that the Afghan people embrace have become the reason why they are now being labeled as rebels. It could just be imagined how hard it is for culture and music to grow directly within the roots of this community especially when dealing with the hardships of war and social inequality in the country. In the face of modernity, Afghanistan remains buried into the scars of the past that their leaders continue to thrive in. It is almost as if when one is born in this country, it could be considered a course to that young budding talent.

It was the year 2001 when the first music concert was ever presented in Afghanistan. Thirty years have already passed and during the said year, it was rather refreshing to know that music is ready to takes its roots again in the hearts of the people, hoping to replenish the dying ember of hope that the youngest generation had witnessed in their country. With better music, it is expected that the society would re-embrace development and modernity in full recognition of the changes and benefits it brings to their people and their nation.
