Musical Composers in the Early Ages, Essay Example

How did composers change the sound of music in the 20th century? Include and explain musical styles, compositional techniques, and musical elements?

Western music is one of the highly advanced cultures globally. However, the western music stand along other cultural music’s like; Indonesia, India, china, Islamic culture just to mention but a few. Nevertheless, composers were very innovative as they changed musical sounds by the use of different traditional instruments. For instance, Greek music used instruments like, Apollo combined with Kithara and aulos, and every instrument had specific information to the listeners. Nevertheless, Rome did not linger behind for they had Bass instruments as well, which was so instrumental in war times. However, most of the musicians were used in churches. In line with the above different styles, developed in the ancient ages as the melodies, which was useful in churches. This led to the invention of organum style music led to the emerging of different dancing styles, musical instruments, as well as musical attires traditionally like monophonic instruments (Pitman, 2006, p.47).  Composition techniques were so high since it covered seasons like a war, circumcision rainy seasons, dry seasons among others. On the other hand, musical elements used included; timbre, dynamics, melody, pitch and rhythm. Though they were useful at a minor rate than now days, but they had the essence of brining out good music.

How political and social behavior in that period influenced the sound of music

Particularly, the music was useful to inspire education in the society. There was academicals music that encouraged learners to work hard in schools. More so, music was commonly used to comfort workers in factories (Wallin et al, 2000, p.22). Additionally, students used to visit such factories and present such music to workers. Furthermore, there was political music that was used for campaigns and praising politicians in the society. Nevertheless, music was essential to famers as they harvested or cultivated their crops they listened to music for comfort. Generally, music was used to comfort and educate people in the society encouraging peace, good health among many other factors.
