Canada contains a diverse array of natural resources throughout the country that provide essential nutrient and function as a source of energy for Canadians. Natural gas, fossil fuels, oil, coal, alternative fuels, renewables, and uranium have emerged as the primary sources of energy that the are distributed by the government in a way that meets the needs of all Canadians. To meet Canada’s energy requirement, various opportunities and challenges persist. Harnessing the energy these resources provide and distributing them both safely and efficiently requires great expertise and collaboration. Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) provides services in various territories and provinces and collaborates with both international and Canadian group as well as with other government departments to further ascertain how to meet the energy needs of Canadians and if changes or adaptations must be made in the way the resources are allocated and distributed, Ultimately, the environmental impact of distributing critical natural resources for energy use is taken into account. In addition to energy sources, water remains the most important natural resources in Canada, which remains one of the highest users of water per capita across the globe. As such, Canadians have access to clean, safe water both for drinking and for agriculture. Canada possesses approximately seven percent of the world’s renewable freshwater, and the government has charged all denizens and Canadian citizens with the responsibility of managing the water resources wisely in Canada. Forests have emerged as a significant source of wealth for many Canadians because they provide a vast array of social, environmental, and economic benefits due to the fact that needed resources and minerals are located therein. Canada remains the second largest nation on earth and shares three borders on the ocean: the Arctic Ocean to the north; the Pacific Ocean to the west; and the Atlantic Ocean in the east. The country has various kinds of lakes and rivers in addition to diverse landscapes: various kinds of forests, arctic tundra where the ground is always frozen, high mountains, and prairie grasslands.
