There are social and emotional schisms, which form the basis of disclosure on interfamilial sexual acts. All sexual acts fall under possibilities and choices in all situations. Scholars aim at defining the correlating factors that breed incestuous behaviors in concrete social life settings. This includes analyzing the circumstances leading to certain acts within a family unit. In realization that exploitation and dual relationships by professionals is a very different phenomena; Family therapists emphasize that the focus should involve avoidance of exploitation for vulnerable groups and not shifting to avoidance.

Attributes of therapists that will be beneficial in this setting include open mindedness. A good therapist will approach this issue without being judgmental weighing on the possibilities on both sides. They should also realize that as human beings all the social boundaries are crossed because of other circumstances other than the person being cunning or evil. Therefore the therapist should be positive and empathetic his work and relationships. Lack of genuine can cost a lifetime career; hence, a therapist should all the times be genuine no matter what. They should be involved with their clients within the emotional content of their experiences. Therapists should also posses’ attributes that will enable them to protect the dependency and weaknesses of their clients.

Mutual Trust is vital for therapists. It is the belief that the other party has good intentions and sufficient competence. Another attribute is the value of vindication or believing that as a professional one will dedicate all their knowledge to restoring clients self worth if they are hurt. There are no defined objective standards to test the competence of a therapist. Nevertheless, training and experience enable a person to cope with different challenges in the field. There are general attributes such as with holding the confidentiality of a client on request, being empathetic and understanding the needs of different people.

The possibility of a positive outcome in any situation lies on the ability of the therapists monitoring and evaluation schemes. Therefore, therapists have to be on their feet at all times.
