Authority, structure, and organization
An organizational quality implementation plan outlines the steps needed, in the organization, to ensure maintenance of quality (Corinna et al., 2010). A well-constructed implementation plan gets information from approaches to quality management, case studies of quality failure, certain organizational risks and control measures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, incidents and feedbacks from customers.
This quality implementation plan must have formal approval of the executive managing director of the Temple University Teaching Hospital. The signature of the director will always act as evidence of the approval. The director signifies that the activities described in the plan of the organization meet desirable quality and the health standards for patients including a program for quality improvement.
Board of directors
The board of directors for the Temple University Teaching Hospital will consist of nine members and chaired by the executive managing director. The deputy-managing director will chair the meetings instead of the executive director’s absence. The board shall serve for three years after which a new board takes over after the election into office. The executive managing director shall be responsible for approving organizational plan and working aiming at meeting the goals of the organization (Peters, 2010). He or she will oversee implementation of the implementation plan.
Quality improvement committee
The quality improvement committee of Temple University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) is committed to improvement of services continually, staff skill sets and competencies, service delivery approaches, and clinical treatment approaches. The Quality Improvement Committee has a function to bring mental health administration, consumers and family members, contract providers and community stakeholder to collaborate in resolution and identification of issues affecting the Health Care System (Hansson et al., 2012). Crucial program areas including Patient Rights, Adult and Child Mental Health, Cultural Competency and contract service providers report regularly to the Quality Improvement Committee.
The medical staff made up of nurses, pharmacy, allied health or clinical research professionals. They offer medical services such as diagnosis, treatment, counseling and other medical services in the organizational day-to-day operations.
This organization has managers heading various departments such as marketing, accounting and production. The middle management is responsible in the implementation of the top management’s plans and policies.
Department staffs have their heads as the middle managers. The staff comprises of the employees in the various departments, and they have a role of executing the day-to-day activities at the departmental level in order to realize desirable organizational goals.
Communication in this organization entails all means, both informal and formal, of passing information down, up and across the employee and manager network. These communication modes are crucial in the dissemination of official information between management and employees to exchange rumors, hearsay or any other crucial information to the organization. The challenge in businesses is the channeling of myriad communications to bolster employee satisfaction, improve customer relations, enhance the firm’s competitiveness and build knowledge sharing throughout the organization (Corinna et al., 2010). The Temple University Teaching Hospital will use communication effectively to ensure that all employees receive information for the smooth running of this organization timely. We will have an up to down as well as down to up system of communication by using mobile phones, electronic mails and posters. We will also employ across communications between departments. These communication modes will also apply in contacting clients and giving them relevant information. The executive managing director will be responsible of communicating performance of the institution to employees and the public. Departmental managers will prepare data reports and overseeing data collection.
The staff will attend internal seminars to receive training and get information on the implementation plan. Each employee will receive relevant information regarding his or her roles in the plan. Departmental managers will receive training on supervisory roles they will play in the plan. Education in the organization is extremely crucial in ensuring that the employees have information for the technical operations necessary in implementing organizational strategies (Comarow, 2006).
The organizational departments will undergo annual evaluation to find out the level of plans implementation. The goals and targets will undergo evaluation to see how far the organization has gone in fulfilling them. Performance committee chaired by the assistant managing director will be responsible in monitoring the effect of changes implemented from the decision-making process. Annual evaluation is indispensable for any organization that aims to prosper, in its venture, to deliver quality services (Comarow, 2006). This is mostly crucial for an organization that provides healthcare and producing personnel experienced in medical care.
The government has authority over this organization through the board of trustees appointed by the county governor. Thus, the decisions made by the organization must undergo the approval of the board of trustees and the executive managing director represents the organization in the board (Hansson et al., 2012). The accrediting body for the quality standards is responsible for evaluation and approval of the organizational operations and any improvements of medical treatments. We hope to cooperate in a maximum way with these external entities to ensure prosperity of the Temple University Teaching Hospital.
In conclusion, the plan will only succeed through cooperation of all employees in executing roles expected of them. It is the responsibility for all employees and staff to ensure smooth communication, information transfer, internal evaluation and appraisal of the efforts directed at the goals and targets of the organization.
