Organizational Structure Presentation, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 378

Essay

The American Health Care Association (AHCA) was started 50 years ago merely as a residential-based partnership whereby neighbors would help each other in matters of health. Its Washington, DC headquarters offer regulatory and legislative guidelines to its entire external and internal staff. The tenets that were established in 1949 still stand today. The AHCA designs only those organizational strategies that are in the interest of all publics, the government and all its members. The services offered include nursing, sub-acute care and assisted living facilities.

The organizational structure of this association is very stable although it is being threatened by buoyant public policy. Incidentally, previous public policy changes have made this association achieve the strength that has made it stand to date.

The organizational structure is also being influenced negatively by federal government inspection system. This limits the creativity of workers as well as demoralizing staff. In order for this association to survive in the face of these tough challenges, good policies have been conceptualized and applied in practical situations. AHCA’s policies are inspired by the need to ensure that critical changes are made in the Perspective Payment System.

Amendments of appropriate statures constitute the main strategic action that the managers of this association believe will be very helpful. The priority is to eliminate antagonism in provision of healthcare services to the seniors and disabled and correct flawed inspection systems. The AHCA’s vision is ensuring collaboration between regulators and providers of healthcare services to remove bureaucratic bottlenecks.

The second health care organization is American Cancer Society (ACS). This organization was founded in 1913 and its headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia. A Chief Executive officer heads the association. The Chief Medical officer helps him with the day-to-day professional activities of the society, which has presence in both Puerto Rico and US.

The main objective of this community-based organization is to eliminate cancer and reduce suffering as a result of the disease. Education, research, service and advocacy tasks are the main subjects upon which organizational subdivisions operate. The society has thirteen divisions that act as the organization backbone of 3,400 offices.
