Pathbrite, Essay Example

Essay

As someone who has utilized LinkedIn in the past, I selected to examine Pathbrite for this assignment. In comparison, I enjoy the tools that are utilizable in the making of the portfolio, although I do not believe that it would be relevant for me to make full use of them at this time. I initially believed that my portfolio should be used to showcase my school work, but it would not be beneficial for me to share these documents with the public because it is possible for them to be stolen. However, this experience made me recognize the value of the website as a potential way to showcase my resume when I am applying for jobs at the end of my fourth year.

The website was beneficial because it was well organized. It is easy to quickly change the layout with different textboxes if needed. However, I only utilized one to provide a quick summary of who I am. The category options break down similar to the categories that one would typically list on a resume when applying for a job. These include highlights, skills and experience, knowledge, and passions. This will be useful for me to complete in detail when I wish to make the transition from a personal care giver and student to a director of a daycare. The information provided here will help clients gain trust in me or it will help me find a position in an already existing daycare facility.

While the interface of the website was easy to use, I do not believe that I was able to make the best choices in the creation of my portfolio because the application of the website is not immediately available to me and I do not want to present my personal information online at a time before I think it can be used to help hiring professionals identify me as an ideal match for their positions. Ultimately, while my decisions could have been made that would have made the profile attractive to viewers, the page would have benefitted by adding a greater amount of information.
