Essay

Introduction

As many people would give their experiences, I did find my high school period tough and scaring. Today, the adult society, has its grasp on the youth in that they make every effort to see them conform to whatever they insinuate as acceptable teenagers. This is an attitude that they need to let go. Despite the fact that today’s youths seem inexperienced about the life, they take a significant place among the smartest people in the world. Consequently, the society today is indebted to let them get information on their rights, and how to take advance them. In my own experience, I found a way this fact true and helpful, and believe everyone can. This follows that, when one’s turn comes, one is not always limited to the path already designed, as there are other options.

Now, I grew in a semi urban society. I was an outstanding performer in school; hence, teachers considered me a pretty contempt child. Unfortunately, in 1999 my father slept from time into eternity when I was only twelve. The respect I had for the adult guardian figure eluded since then. I turned out to be severely depressed and uncontrollable. Going to school became a problem. The reason behind all this was that I hated teachers, but mostly I detested happy people. I was deeply hurting, and the best I could do then was to hurt other people. During this period, I caused much chaos and just ignored everything. This accrued because of lack of motivation, or even the severe depression, but whatever the case I kept on with the same behavior for a number of years. This unbecoming behavior became the concern to the teachers who constantly reminded me of my brightness and considerable potential. However, there constant reminders did make any impact as they kept falling on my deaf ears.

The next level of education, that is a high school, did not bring any change as it only served to deepen my hatred. For example, there is almost an absolute lack of student’s rights. This includes the aspects such as subjecting students to random search by school officials often. What made the matters even worse, were the strict “guilty until proven innocent” guideline and the absence of the basic freedom of expression. Amazingly, the school administration imposed these rules onto students that are essentially Americans citizens just like other citizens. I treated this as a complete violation of morality and belief; I knew that I could not stand it for a longer time. Sadly, few months after turning 16, I dropped out of school and moved find my own life.

This unexpected occurrence was met by a mixed feeling of liberation and trepidation. I encountered liberation, since I considered myself free to make my own decisions fearfully. However, it is important to note that this happened because I had to make decisions with no prior experience. The thought of the many responsibilities laid on my hand frightened me even more. The good side of it is the role it played in maturing me faster, thus inculcating robust moral standards and the virtue of humility in me. At this point, there was no other better thing than to take some initiative and begin making some decisions on my first step into my future. Following this, I would be able to enroll as a student in a community college where I graduated and later become an entrepreneur.Getting my academic certificates on the entrepreneurship proved simpler than I had imagined. This demanded that I develop the right attitude and remain focused as opposed to my previous approaches. Following this success, I got engrossed with the need to make another key decision in my life. I decided that I needed to get a job.

Pushed by a strong feeling of fortune on my side, I went to started looking for a job. Everything transpired to my advantage. This follows that fact that my first interview served to land me in a job as a storekeeper. I underwent intensive training and within weeks given the keys to imply, I was mow fully in charge of the store.

Conclusion

As expected, I was delighted over my life, and the way things were turning out. I became happy than I had ever been during the period I was in school. This worked so well for me that I was ready to go back to college. I mean after all everything else was working just as I thought. It is noteworthy that drawing strength from my successes I got overwhelmed by the urge to get back to college. This was made possible a few months later during summer. My confidence soared, and my attitude grew strong and better. That was my opportunity not only to prove my teachers wrong but also everyone who thought I could not make it. This was a chance to get where I was destined and never look back. I learned from my experience that with dedication, determination, and humility, everything is possible.
