Personal Sexual Attitude Shift, Essay Example

Essay

Before I have started attending the course, my view of sex is based more on the contrast between Chines tradition and the definite terms of development that the Chinese community embraces regarding the said topic. Truth is, in the past, the issue or even just the mention of the term ‘sex’ in Chinese leaves a feeling of discussing a social taboo due to the response of the people around me, as if pointing out that it is such a bad thing to talk about. I have long been grounded around morals of tradition and culture and opening my mind to the real concept of sex and the issues related to it was not that easy for me to accept at first.

Through the content and context of this course, I cannot deny that I have gained a much clearer perspective of what sex is about and how it should be viewed by humans, not as a mere vile act, but as a gift of life; something that ought to be respected and celebrated at the same time. The constraints of morals need not be broken, instead should be seen as basis of what is supposed to be considered as clean and acceptable sexual relations. The connection of the act with the human emotions directly dictating the emergence of such reaction among individuals is what makes the option of improvement more distinctive in many ways. This is how the course opened up my mind into a more valuable sense of seeing sex as a mere part of human nature, something that does not need to be dealt with as a social taboo, but should be talked about with high responsibility and control in mind.

True to its sense, sexual relationships have been explained in this course to have taken different facets of adjustments through the years. People have been going through so much, and the development of a modern lifestyle largely affects the thinking and perception of the world towards sex. The emergence of modern media and the influx of information coming from publishers and producers of reading materials [both online and on paper] insist on the power by which these materials define the thinking pattern of each individual towards issues such as sexual relations.

The emergence of such discussions even spur up convictions and relatable understandings with regards homosexuality and transgender issues among individuals having questions and points of confusion with regards their gender orientation. Practically, people have seen human sexuality take different colors and different phases of development through time. Most often than not, it is because of this point of realization that the recognition of supposedly immoral acts based on culture, tradition and religion becomes largely acceptable among human individuals at present. The loss of control on how humans view the freedom they have regarding an established sense of human sexuality made it harder for the different social institutions to establish a proper sense of defining what good morals is about especially when it comes to labeling sexual relations as relatively promiscuous or allowable on other cases.

The philosophies and themed ideas about sexual relations pointed out in this course allowed me to see different aspects of improving thoughts about sex and how it should actually affect one’s whole being. Most often than not, the emergence of new knowledge makes me think of my past beliefs, examining whether or not these new thoughts should affect me or the way I embrace the ideas that are being shared to me at present. Relatively, I have been thinking of how good the Chinese tradition is especially in protecting the women from being largely abused in a sexual manner. However, through this course, I have realized that the less people know, the more likely they are to be ignorant thus increasing the challenge by which they are to be victimized by wrong beliefs.

From this point, I then realized the importance of being educated early on about the issues surrounding human sexuality, sexual relations and all the issues related to it. Basically, I have learned to open up my thought to particular adjustments when it comes to understanding the concepts of human sexuality and how much it should affect our relationship with others and the ways by which we see ourselves as well. True, given the chance to know something more about a supposedly controversial issue is something that needs to be given specific attention to, not only by students or academic experts but by the society as a whole. I do believe that through giving the topics on human sexuality a more in depth consideration, the emergence of the rising rate of teen pregnancy and early marriages as well as early divorces could be handled properly by the administrators. The programs they pursue would have a much stronger impact in the society if the people are given the chance to take notice of how they act and respond to the issue according to the position that they take in relation to the manner by which they see and understand the basics of human sexual connections and behavior.
