It is imperative for nurses to take steps to improve outcomes for patients with kidney disease. One in ten adults have chronic kidney disease, indicating that this illness is representative of a major portion of the population. Even though many patients are prescribed large amounts of medications for their health status, it is important for them to understand that exercise can help improve their outcomes and reduce some disease related symptoms. Thus, it is essential to promote health and wellness programs for individuals with kidney disease to help them incorporate an exercise regimen in their daily schedule. Many working adults have a challenging time incorporating exercise in their daily schedules, but the implementation of a health and wellness program will help them better understand how to fit exercise into their daily office routines.

Since I have ten years’ experience in the medical field, I am able to provide my patients with comprehensive advice concerning exercise techniques and programs that they can use to enhance their health. As such, I can interpret laboratory results in a manner that will help me identify an applicable treatment plan and become a partner to their care. It is expected that this personalized experience will help contribute to the quality of life that patients are able to maintain even while living with kidney disease. To support my current level of experience, I intend to add to my current knowledge by performing a comprehensive view of the literature to determine the efforts that have been implemented by nurses in the past to reduce the severity of chronic kidney disease and to analyze where these experiments have knowledge gaps that I may be able to fill. Although I currently have a knowledge of some of the experiments and reviews that have been reported in the literature, it would be beneficial to add to this knowledge by exploring this topic more deeply.

Through the five patterns of knowing, I am able to understand the suffering that patients with chronic kidney disease can encounter during their lifetime. As such, I am motivated to help this suffering end. Next, I understand the causes of kidney disease in addition to treatment methods and side effects related to medications currently prescribed for this purpose. I will incorporate this knowledge with an understanding of the benefits of exercise to help my patients. On an ethical level, it is my responsibility as a nurse to contribute to the improvement of patient care, so it will be essential for me to determine how I can recommend exercise most effectively for the purpose of pain reduction. Immediately, patients will be able to understand that there are individuals involved in their personal care, which could potentially motivate them to remain involved in the exercise regimen suggested to them. The end of this journey will contribute to the production of an emancipatory effect, which will help me inform practice for future studies. Overall, it is available to apply various facets of knowledge to experimental design to ensure that the project has the potential to benefit a wide portion of patients.

Kidney disease is problematic, but the severity of the illness can be reduced by implementing careful maintenance. Exercise is a part of this maintenance, but is not implemented regularly. My program will ensure that patients understand how to exercise and are confident in doing so as a part of their regular schedules.
