Essay

Photographs are important measures of human memories. It is usually considered however to be a tinted presentation of truth, especially in these modern ages of digital technology. It could be realized that with the existence of modern technology, photography became a definitive art that is directed by the photographers themselves. Back in the days, photographs are expected to simply preserve the memories of the ones in the pictures. Given the fact that these photographs are hard to develop especially when they are produced under a dark room, it is understood that producing images take time hence making it harder for photographers to make a definite course of presentation in relation to what they actually desire to produce. Making alterations on most of these types of photographs is almost impossible to take note of. Because of the fact that there are particular characteristics of old photographs, it is almost impossible to recopy them or even reproduce them for the sake of developing better options of these photos. However, because of the existence of modern technology, it could be realized that the option of renewing old photographs and creating more effects that could bring these images into life became more possible to embrace. At present, there are several services that make a distinct impact on how old photographs are actually renewed and are given better life; one that is not only able to bring back the memories, but one that is able to bring everything else into an almost surreal existence that makes each image a representation of more than what is considered real.

At present, the same technology of modern digital photography provides a new essence of what photographs are all about and the value that they are actually noted for especially when it comes to making presentations that are hyper-defined. Noticeably, it could be understood that with such insertions of effects, almost all photographs are considered to be highly staged, not necessarily presenting reality but is giving a sense of meaning that the photographer wants to make for the sake of the viewing audience. Aiming to make a mark on the thinking of the public, most photographers setup their studios and other background setups in order to make a dramatic impact on how the photographs would be accepted and interpreted by the target audiences.

What makes every photograph unique is the meaning it insists to be fully related to what the society is dealing with [or the main subjects are basically noted for]. For instance, due to the emergence of social media and social networking, the mandate on how photographs are doctored in order to present the reputation or recognizable identity the photograph’s subjects are aiming to give attention to is specifically dedicated to make each photograph meaningful and relatively valuable especially for the sake of improving the way the subjects are presented for public interpretation.

What of the pictures that are used to present news? Through the utilization of psychodynamic psychology, current news presentations are most often than not manipulated in order to represent the meaning that the news makers want to impose on the public. With the emergence of such point of manipulation, it is believed that news reports are aimed at affecting the thinking and opinion of the people in the public; especially mandating them to make some distinct changes on the way they view the different issues that are necessarily kept in high assumption of how these matters ought to change the society as a whole.

From basic images, a lot of meanings could be derived. With new media, photographs are actually able to be staged and make a distinct representation that would best imply on what the photographers want to share with the public. With their thoughts, they are expected to make a definite impact on social changes and adjustments accordingly.
