Commemoration is a measure of honouring the memory of a person or a sense of preserving the memory of another. The worldwide event is celebrated to identify and encourage writers who push up for the basic human right to freedom of expression, and to recognize writers who have suffered in their capacities.

Plato, born in a well-off family to Ariston and Perictione in Athens, Greece around 420 A.D. Various historians consider Plato as one of the first philosophers to live in the age of Synthesis. Plato, the Greek philosopher, joined Socrates school where he explored integrity, fairness, and political philosophy (Lewes 188). Plato engaged in many varieties of poetry as at his early ages, only later joining philosophy. Aristotle discloses that Plato the young scholar became familiar as a student at Heraclitus with the doctrines of Cratylus that provided Plato with the fundamentals of metaphysics. Though everyone called him Plato, his original name was Aristotle while Plato was his pet name given to him because of his oversize head (Biography of Plato).

Plato started his philosophical profession under the supervision of Socrates. Plato’s have similar views like his scholar, Aristotle that entirely clouded Plato in his young age that everyone called him as ‘The Philosopher’.

By 409, BC Plato met Socrates the famous city in Greece and a devoted follower on description of his deviation. Plato’s philosophy improved at integrated background like politics, ethics, and metaphysics in virtue of human goodness.

By 399, BC Plato witnessed the civil war of Socrates at the hands of the restored Athenian democracy where the Socrates charged for humiliating the young people minds and spiritual apostasy; the government later memorialized trial in Plato absence.

In 387, BC at the age of forty, Plato founded an academy that was later described as the first European university that taught political theology, biology, and mathematics, but was closed in 529 AD by Empire Justinian. Apart from administering the Academy, Plato also worked as seminar, Euthydemus and Phaedrus that expounded his thinking capacities (Plato 427-347 BCE).

Plato died in 347, BC leaving the Academy to Speusippus, his sister’s son. The Academy acts as the newest institutions of higher learning until the Emperor Justinian in 529 BC closed it, almost one thousand years later.
