Political Competence, Research Paper Example

Research Paper

The relationship between exemplary corporate citizenship and political competence is such that one helps to bring out the other. According to Crane et al (2008), the exemplary corporate citizenship culminates into political competence. Without good corporate citizenship, there would be no need for change and hence the lack of a need for political competence. Political competence in this case ensures that good corporate citizenship upheld.

On the other hand, good corporate citizenship ensures that the political atmosphere is conducive and competent by keeping it in check. Corporate citizenship as per Crane et al (2008) deals with the ethical aspects of an organization in the running of its activities while political competence is necessary in order to achieve this. While political competence is about the abilities necessary for upright political participation, corporate citizenship deals with the diligent and productive service to the society. Without the one of them, the other is not achievable, due to their interconnectivity.

Barr (2011) argues that government and politics directly control the financing, organization, and delivery of health care. This involvement evident in circumstances where the provision of some basic health care facilities is the government’s obligation and the costs of these services reduced or eliminated. The government oversees the organization of most health care facilities in order to ensure proper, ethical standards observed. It is worth noting that the government through taxes on its citizens meets the financing of health care (Pies & Koswolski 2011). An important aspect of the government’s involvement is through the government’s authority in the delivery of health care services even regulating the private health care providers.
