Essay

The globe is warming up, the capacity of the world to let the carbon dioxide out of its atmosphere has already weakened up to 40% compared to the past years of dealing with such environmental problems (Muller, 2010). Relatively, it has been realized that the rate of carbon dioxide supposed to be set of out from our atmosphere remains intact and is trapped; thus causing the said instance of warming up. This condition then leads to the distinct indication on how the climate patterns already take dramatic adjustments at present. Cold seasons become colder and warm seasons become hotter that at times it is hard to survive during such conditions (Muller, 2010). At present, these effects of global warming could already be fully felt. Relatively, this is the reason why people have grown more involved to the issue compared to the past years of wanting better environmental situations.

At present, several conditions of techniques are being studied and researched upon to be able to respond to the impending conditions that environmental imbalance brought about by global warming to the modern type of human living. The fear for harder times to deal with specifically makes it rather contemplating for different social groups to put their attention towards creating possible procedures that could make their stand in operation more dependent on the ideal manner of saving what is left of the environment and preventing more destructive situations to happen. This fear of different negative possibilities that could actually endanger the lives of the human society is even aggravated by the production of sci-fi films that discuss the different possibilities that may occur if environmental issues such as global warming would not be controlled immediately.

Nevertheless, even though some of these movies are specifically over rated or at times exaggerated in presenting the factual possibilities behind the current condition of the earth and its relation to global warming, the message that they intend to serve specifically allows people to see what possibilities they could still embrace to help in the process of creating a new culture for the human population to follow especially in relation to increasing awareness and concern for earth-wide strategies of facing the challenges of global warming. Some of the solutions include eco-architecture, green living, green business operations and eco-urbanization. These procedures shall be given specific attention to within the discussions that follow.

Eco architecture is based from the primary foundations of regular aspects of architecture. Every human being needs shelter for protection (US: NRC 2012). Having the responsibility to provide such need, architects are now even more concerned on the process by which the shelters they create are able to sustainably support life and home living. For instance, there are particular projects that are designed to house several families in one building alone. Given the lack of space due to the increasing rate of human population, it could be analyzed that the need for establishments designed to provide shelter for more than one family specifically increases. Notably though, it could be understood that such need also requires a specific focus on comfort amidst the populated areas. Architects then face the challenge of making sure that air, electricity and energy are circulated properly within the shelters they make. Only through this approach would they be able to help in lessening instances of energy waste which also causes massive production of energy resources [which directly contributes to global warming].

Another responsibility of modern architects is to find more sustainable and more practical materials that are to be used in establishing the facilities they create. Through research, architects are trying to explore different materials from less exploited resources to be able to create houses, buildings and other establishments that would sustain the human need for shelter. These researches specifically allow the architects find materials that are highly available in the environment other than wood, cement [from sand] and other common materials [that are already considered scarce at present].

Other human individuals on the other hand choose to take the challenge of green living. This process of living specifically involves high concern for what they could do to help save the earth in their own way. One of which involves growing their own small gardens even within urban locations. Being able to do so helps them cultivate resources that help in clearing out the air from pollution [at least within their areas]. Another aspect of such type of living is that of the capacity to turn ‘trash’ into ‘riches’ or simply known as ‘recycling’. People wanting to live a green life are dedicated to making sure that they contribute to the lessening of trash [specifically plastics and other non-biodegradable materials] rate that are specifically affecting the waste management issues in particular communities around the globe.

Another solution seen to have a great effect on the lessening of the effects of global warming is that of the process of embracing green business operations (UNEP, 2010). Packaging issues often involve the choice between plastic or paper resources used to serve as packaging for the products that they serve the market with. Packaging is of course one of the most important aspects of product distribution. Plastic used to serve as the most durable type of packaging. However, due to the current condition and the fact that plastics are non-biodegradable, a lot of businesses accepted the responsibility to change their manners of packaging; thus not only serving their clients, but also that of the environment they are supposed to protect.

Most organizations today are being measured and judged as to how much they are able to respond to such aspect of their corporate responsibility. The way they handle some of their most compelling operations that provide them the chance to gain more profit is often compromised by such situations. Nevertheless, their capacity to respond to such challenges often lead them to better status of reputation that gives them a better chance to embrace better business and better social relations with their clients,

Meanwhile, green urbanization is directed towards a more sustainable system of development especially among rural areas that are aiming to become urbanized (UNEP, 2010). Back in the days, building developmental facilities was only for the said of industrialization. People were more concerned on how they can turn an open lot to a profiting machine. On the other end, green urbanization handles development in a different manner. It specifically increases concern for the utilization of the different spaces in a more sustainable manner. Making each region a champion of its particular produce, green urbanization is dedicated towards developing the best assets of a particular region instead of turning it into a city that is less able to support the basic needs of its people. This way, national sustainability is developed.

Overall, it could be realized that somehow, the different procedures contemplated to help in the process of lessening the overall effects of global warming in people’s lives are definitely dependent on how the people respond to the situations as a whole. Cooperation between human individuals living in a specific community, dedicated to a single and focused goal is the real key towards successfully lessening the impact of global warming to the modern system of living (RS, 2005). Humans have specifically contributed highly to the destructive impact of global warming to their lives. The massive exploitation of the environment has caused severe damage to the balance of nature; and now, humans ought to take their stand in making sure that the problem they have created could actually be resolved through their cooperative and sincere efforts. Only through such aspect of cooperation would the success over the challenge of controlling the situation be achieved. Without unity, no matter how numerous the techniques are, their impact would never be realized fully unless everyone accepts his own share of being environmentally responsible.
