How Does Public Policy and Public Health Initiatives Prevent Childhood Obesity
There is a variety of reasons for children obesity; however, in accordance with the majority of experts within the area of obesity-related problems, the inappropriate public policy and the lack of public health awareness occur as the locomotive of this complex disorder. Consequently, it is necessary to become aware of the need to cease skipping with the significance of being concerned about this social problem (Huang., Cawley., Ashe., Costa., Frerichs., Zwicker & Kumanyika, 2015). It is not a secret that children take a variety of kinds of mass media and spend their time watching TV and playing computer. As a result, they are strongly affected by the content offered by the telecommunication medium; the point is that majority of children are likely to misunderstand persuasive or rather exploitative nature of food images they see on the screen (Jackson., Harrison., Swinburn & Lawrence, 2014). Therefore, product preferences influence the kids’ demands and they affect the purchasing decision of their parents (Brunner-Brown, 2014).
Considering the problem of childhood obesity, one should clearly understand the significance of federal policy on this social problem; the thing is that in accordance with many surveys, it becomes apparent that a shift of focus from junk food to healthy food on governmental initiative is likely to positively influence the process of overcoming childhood obesity (Lytle, 2015).
Obviously, it is necessary to mobilize the public awareness and launch the initiatives focused on obesity prevention policy. As a result, it is worth disregarding a variety of temptations offered by mass media. Evidently, obesity is likely to have both physical and psychological influence; n order to eradicate the signs of obesity-related diseases, it is necessary to apply a complex approach to dealing with this social problem (Brownell & Frieden, 2009). Among the efficient methods against bullying, it is worth taking into consideration the significance of obesity prevention workshops, which are aimed at shaping the awareness of the need to be concerned about the discussion social problem. Obviously, in order to overcome obesity it is necessary to analyze this problem in detail; obesity prevention workshops serve as the guide to getting to know the nature of this growing social problem. Such a prevention workshop is likely to endow people with knowledge necessary to get over a fat childhood.
Conclusion
Indisputably, obesity requires serious attention to overcome this negative social phenomenon. In order to prevent the extension obesity, it is necessary to adhere to obesity prevention policy; moreover, one should understand that the discussion medical condition needs to be the matter of great concern to the public. The importance of a thorough analysis of childhood obesity in order to see all the aspects of its negative impact is beyond doubt.
