In the latest chapter, the concept of publishing written works is introduced, and I did not realize the complexities of this process and what steps are required to gain approval in publishing an article. Therefore, it is important to possess a clear understanding of this process, from the concept and query letter, through to publication in order to successfully address all required variables (Chism, 2016). In addition, it is necessary to evaluate the portfolio as related to the final project and to identify all requirements in order to confirm that they will be met in a timely manner without difficulty and will meet the objectives of the publication and its subject matter (Smolowitz, Honig, & Reinisch, 2010).

The development of a project and paper for publication also requires an understanding of the key ethical principles that factor into this process, along with other variables that support a high quality and original submission that is free of plagiarism and other problems (Resnick, 2014). This process is instrumental in shaping how a DNP-prepared nurse is able to manage the requirements of publishing their product in a manner that will support the profession and the learning curve. In addition, recognizing the value of content that is worthy of publication must include an understanding of the different criteria that must be met in order to ensure that the publication is of the highest possible level and quality (Batcheller, Kenn, VanDyke, & Armstrong, 2012).

Finally, in preparation to submit an article for publication, it is important to ensure that all research that will be used in the paper is thoroughly referenced and supported by prior evidence in order to be truthful and accurate in all areas. This will enable the journal to evaluate its significance and to recognize the benefits of the article for its readers. In addition, managing all requirements before the established deadlines is critical in increasing the chances that the article will be accepted for publication.
