Quality Mini Computers, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 676

Essay

Quality Mini Computers has experienced quite a vast amount of popularity due to our innovative and exciting product.  The minicomputer has been designed to be lightweight and space-efficient, while still maintaining the simple allure and speed of a normal laptop computer.  In our initial marketing phases, the younger population has been more apt to show a positive reception toward the minicomputer, which is important for the future growth of our company as well as the marketing campaign. Young individuals are more inclined to make online purchases in an ever-growing marketplace called e-Commerce.  Studies have shown that nearly 30% of all small businesses have claimed that e-Commerce production and sales will continue to increase and be a cornerstone for organizational growth and expansion (Small Business Research Board, 2007).  This same cornerstone will be the basis upon our marketing, advertising and financial investments in order to appeal to the younger audience and cash in on the popularity and easy access to e-Commerce purchasing.

The marketing campaign for Quality Mini Computers must be designed and implemented to distinguish our product as a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals.  We must diversify ourselves from the rest of our competition and market our differences in a way that appeals to a large consumer base as a “must have” product.  The four p’s of marketing show that pricing, product, place and promotion are the keys to a successful marketing campaign (NetMBA.com).  Due to the advancement of the e-Commerce marketplace, our organization will develop and market a unique e-Store that makes purchasing, reviewing and analyzing the minicomputer a one-stop-shop experience.  This will appeal to the placing aspect of the marketing mix by providing all individuals an opportunity to purchase the minicomputer from the convenience and accessibility of the internet.  Our product is unique as well as the e-Store experience.  Our internet technicians are already developing the framework for a website that allows for buyers to communicate with one another for product reviews as well as to communicate with company representatives to ask any questions about the purchasing experience.  Furthermore, the pricing must be affordable for a younger population otherwise we run the risk of alienating the core of our prospective consumer base (NetMBA.com).

Effective leadership is going to be the basis for this new marketing plan to be successful and appealing to the younger population.  Leadership is a critical component for any organization to succeed in implementing organizational plans, developing new products and increasing overall revenues (Yukl, 2004).  It is important for us to make the distinction that QMC does not define leadership based on a hierarchical position within the organization.  Instead, leadership is viewed as the ability for an individual to do what is right for the betterment of the customer, the organization and the individual employee.  McCrimmon (2008) has argued that leadership is not confined to a sole definition whereby one person is in a supervisor or dictator over other people.  Instead, at QMC leadership in this marketing campaign and our organization will be through actions that motivate and inspire while maintaining the goals and objectives of this company.

As the marketing manager, it is my responsibility to oversee the marketing efforts and ensure that our overall plan is put into action effectively and efficiently.  Furthermore, we will stand behind our organizational and marketing philosophies with regards to our employees, our consumers and overall organizational leadership.  Our new marketing plan must begin with careful planning and evaluation of potential benefits and consequences.  It is important to note that not all consequences are negative.  Instead, it is the goal of our marketing team and QMC to effectively develop a marketing plan that appeals to a broad consumer base.  Through this appeal, the marketing campaign is designed to increase our total sales and utilize the popularity of the minicomputer to boost internal revenue.
