Essay

Human inequity, racism and social prejudice are major problems of US society. Despite the number of cases, which involve discrimination, has diminished, racism is still one of the features of today’s world. Black people often face prejudice on labor market and on the field of jurisprudence. However, the mot severe influence of this type of discrimination can be observed in public schools.

The first point to consider is that either write or black children form the majority of the pupils. “They [schools] are segregated just as rigidly today by economic class, as schools are in many cities, and the result is all but the same – public schools for blacks, private schools for whites” (Fields). Such conditions create the background of racial discrimination. For instance, there are more white children in one particular school they will most likely discriminate the smaller number of black students and vise versa. Secondly, as black children in many cases come from lower class families they are usually discriminated on financial basis. It is not a secret that children use to show their emotions in much more direct way. Therefore, by simply showing their attitude to black children in regards of their financial status, they practice the very basic form of racism.

In conclusion I want to write that there are a lot of ways to diminish the number of children who face racial discrimination. By simply maintaining the same number of black and white pupils, providing uniform, interracial team building, and group projects teachers can totally remove this kind of problem from the human inequality’s list.
