Recommendations for Homeschooling Studies, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 239

Essay

The time has come to expand homeschooling research outside the traditional examinations of educational attainment, learner social interaction, and parental motivation.  The study’s findings expanded new knowledge and insights that might be worthwhile to investigate, such as research into the emotionally based interrelationships among parents and students and the lack of realism with some homeschoolers. With the findings from this study, I believe that a mixed-method study of the emotion-driven interactions that occur recurrently in the homeschool setup is required.

An extensive review of 500 or more people can be performed to explore sentimental interrelations among students and parents during academic instruction. A sequence of polls could be conducted in the aftermath of this survey. Among the questions to consider are: Is it common for such interactions to occur in a homeschooling setup? How would parents handle such situations? What are the responses of the learners to these interrelationships? Are disciplines getting dumped as a result of parent-student disagreements?

Another interesting homeschooling research topic is why some parents do not teach writing. For instance, this same research could start with a simple survey of homeschooling households, inquiring how many of them teach writing, how frequently they teach it, followed by a series of case studies. We should consider the following questions: What are the reasons? On which factors does writing instruction avoidance rely upon? Do the students who have never been taught how to write have what it takes when it comes to writing?
