Training is the organized activity designed at imparting information and/or instructions to develop the recipient’s performance, or to assist him or her reach a required level of knowledge or skill. Development is the process of encouraging employees to attain advanced or innovative skills, viewpoints and knowledge by providing training and learning facilities, and opportunities where such new ideas can be applied. On the other side, career is the advancement and actions taken by individual throughout a lifetime, particularly related to that person’s occupation. A career is regularly composed of the jobs held, titles received and work accomplished over a long period rather than just referring to one position.

From the above definitions, it is clear that, the quality of employees training and their development determines the quality of personnel in the organization which determines the long term performance of the business. Thus, for career improvement, training and development are necessary because they help one to adopt and use advanced technology, and create awareness of new programs. Investment in training and development helps in improving on the career which helps increasing ones and organization’s productivity.

This relationship between training, development and career has affected me as a student in the following ways; it has increased job satisfaction and morale among the teachers, through this they have been motivated and increased efficiency in processes resulting in performance improvement among the students. They have also adopted new technologies and methods which they have taught us. Also, through their training they have enhanced the school image where they conduct ethics training, training about sexual harassment, and diversity training.

In conclusion, training, development, and career relationship is highly vital in every improving organization or personnel.
