Essay

The founder of the company, R. C. Hollies, left a legacy, which was based on the principles of libertarian and voluntarism philosophy. The legacy values include; self-responsibility, integrity, life-long learning, community, and respect forindividual freedom. These are bedrocks in, which communication is operating today. This can also be referred to freedwoman, which means serving the communities with respect and integrity and at the same time keeping the spirit of freedomburning (Carey 2008, p. 204). The cornerstones of freedom way are; life-long learning, opportunity for individuals, commitment to the ideals of individual freedom, and careful management of resources. The headquarters of Freedom Communications is in Santa Ana. It is a nationally owned entertainment and information company, which print interactive businesses and publications. The portfolios of the company include; magazines, mobile applications, daily and weeklynewspapers, and entertainment and information websites.

The media outlets that the company owns are newspapers, television, internet and magazines. The newspapers are dividedinto two, daily newspapers and non-daily newspapers. The daily newspapers are found in California. A daily newspaper is also divided into; Long Angeles Register, Long Beach Register, Orange County Register, and The Press Enterprise with Inland SoCal. In 1935, Freedom Communications discovered digital offerings and newspapers, which were important to the people’s lives (Holmes 2005, p. 192). It was a vital source of communication because people stayed connected to their communities the digital offerings and newspapers. The freedom network of the community assisted the company’s business. This is because the company could communicate with the communities as clients easily. Non-daily newspapersare also located in California. Another source of communication is the magazine. The magazine is divided into manytypes which include; OC Register family, OC Register Magazine, Coast Magazine, Southland Golf, OC Register Metro, and others.

The person managing the company is R. C. Hoiles as he is the founder. The strategy he is using is by fighting andagitating for freedom of communication (Vivian & Maurin 2012, p. 65). This will enable the company to display moreprograms on television and print many newspapers and magazines daily. This is because many people are willing to communicate because there is freedom of communication. The strategy will last for a very long time because manypeople are learning about the freedom of communication and they will need to communicate with their friends andrelatives. As a result, they will get these services from the company through the television, newspapers, magazines, andthe internet. The people managing the company are competent. This is because R. C. Hoiles the founder of the companytook the interest of writing newspapers even when he was still in college. After completing his education, he startedworking full time in his brother’s company before starting his own company. There is no infighting for control in thecompany. This is because each employee or shareholder concentrates on his/her position and there is no time forinfighting for control.

The company finances sound is improving gradually as per the comparison of the financial statements for the lastfive years. The operating profits for the last five years are 2009 – $ 32567, 2010 – $ 35545, 2011 – $ 40652, 2012 – $ 43854, and 2013 – $ 48675. On the other hand the long-term obligations are 2009 – $ 14876, 2010 – $13212, 2011 – $ 12097, 2012 – $ 11509, and 2013 – $ 11680. All the figures above are in millions. The business is progressing well as per the operating profits. This is because the operating profit has increased all the way from 2009 to 2013. The obligations are manageable as the company can afford to pay all the obligations and remain with operating profits (Hardt 2007, p. 94).

The company will fight with competitors in the markets who offering the same services. This is because thecompany has employed qualified staffs who are able to offer the customers the quality services they need. The companymakes sure that the employees attend seminars and workshops, which will make them, acquire new skills on the currentand changing technology. In addition, the company is comparing the rates at which the competitors are offering the sameservices. This will enable the management to adjust the rates of offering the services slightly. This will enable thecompany to attract more clients and maintain the current ones. More clients will be attracted because of the friendly pricesas compared to those of the competitors. The company will try to initiate new business models, which will fit the currenttechnology.

As per the progress and improvements on the financial status of the company, I would like to work for thecompany if I am given a chance. This is because the company is progressing well because the operating profit has beenincreasing for the last five years (Holmes 2005, p. 152). I will be comfortable working in this company, as I will be associated will successful and manageable organization. I would buy the stock from the company because the company is marketable enough and many people will be anticipating to buy shares from the company. This will enable me or anyone else to sell his/her shares at a profit in the future. The company is not a target for buyout, but it is set to acquire moreproperties. This is because the company is making more profits, which will enable it to expand in future. In the next ten years, the company will have expanded to become a multinational company. This is because of the trend of its financialstatus and progress. The company is using its profits to expand the company by increasing the services it offers to theclients.
