Scuba Diving, Thesis Paper Example

Thesis Paper

In Aaron Derr’s article “Discovering Scuba,” he says that there are over 3,000 diving scientists around the country and that some of the best places to experience scuba diving is around reefs. This paper will talk about scuba diving and why it is such a fun activity in which a person gets a chance to look at their world in a new and exciting way.

Reef’s are one of the best areas to scuba dive because they offer a vast range of sea creatures. The Great Barrier Reef in Australia is one of the most popular places in the world to go scuba diving. It is also important to know what sea creatures can be harmful, for instance at the Camen Islands, one of the more dangerous places to go scuba diving, there are poisonous sea creatures and some can even “penetrate through a diver’s armor.” This should not deter anyone from experiencing the great sport of scuba diving, however, it should just stand as a reason to be extra careful when diving and to know the local creatures in the sea around you.

One of the great reasons scuba diving is so much fun is because of all of the very interesting and unique forms of life a person gets to see while they’re under water. For instance, coral reefs are a habitat that contain thousands of different sea creatures ranging from hundreds of different varieties of fish to sponges and even plants. The reef itself is al living creature! Since the reef is a live, it’s important for scuba divers to not break any part of the reef as that would ruin the sensitive eco system. This is one reason that scuba diving is so much fun and educational though; learning about the world around you is what makes life worth living.
