Essay

The topic that will be reviewed is human trafficking.  The phenomenon of human trafficking will be explored from the perspectives of Chin and Finckenauer (2012), Turner and Kelly (2009).   What is the definition of human trafficking?

Human trafficking is to become a victim of deception and to be kidnapped.  The outcome of the human trafficking activities is to sell the victims.  Individuals are purchased and sold for the procurement of organs, domestic servitude, slave labor and sexual exploitation.  Thechildren women and men are procured and placed for sale within their own nations.   The victims are frequently taken across national frontiers.  Human trafficking influences all nations and citizens (Chin and Finkenauer, 2012; Turner and Kelly, 2009).

Big Business, Power and Control

All individuals reflect on making a better life for themselves.  The life improvements can include being cared for or receiving opportunities.  The human traffickers often take advantage of the needs of their victims.  The human trafficker offers opportunities of employment and a better life.  Human trafficking is a big business.  This business is composed of complex interaction of supply and demand.  The human trafficking business is a multibillion dollar a year enterprise that is increasing annually (Turner and Kelly, 2009).

Invisible Crime

The act of kidnapping a human being and exploiting them is so detestable that no one wants to admit that its takes place.  Society turns a blind eye to the human trafficking.  The victims of human trafficking are frequently transported across national borders and exploited.  The response for the human trafficking problem is for members of society to become aware of the crime and to take assertive action toward ceasing the sequestering and selling of human beings (Chin and Finckenauer, 2012).

Conclusion

Human trafficking occurs due to the vulnerability of the victims to promises of improved life circumstances.  The human that are trafficked are often sold within their own nation for bodily organs, exploited sexually or used as forced labor.  Human trafficking is an invisible business that generates billions of dollars each year.  The best way to stop human trafficking is education.
