Global Warming: Developing Social Perception through News

Dave Hennen’s report on CNN  entitled U.N. climate change report points blame at humans specifically points out the determination of factors that are noted to affect the changing climate of the world. Notably, these changes, which have been pointed out by the United Nations through research, mostly account from human activities such as forest denudation and extreme industrialization of agricultural lands. In his report he gives attention to statistical data that proves the situation and implicates on the growing problem that has been pounding on the human society for the past few decades. He utilizes further scientific data that supports the matter and determines how much impact human activities have on the changing tides of the earth’s natural systems.

On the other end, Sharon Begley’s report on Newsweek entitled The Reality of Global Climate Change is Upon Us directs the reader more on the actual situations that humans encounter with. Proving that global warming exists through getting experiential reports from several of her interviewees, she tries to establish a factual determination on how this weather phenomenon already affects the overall system of living that humans have to deal with at present. Making a distinct comparison between the then and now situations happening in particularly disturbed areas, the reporter brings about a sense of realization to her audience through helping them see what is happening and realizing the matter based on their own relative experiences about the changes in the environment.

Overall, it could be understood that the reports give distinct presentation on what global warming while providing constructive ways of proving that the said phenomenon is actually happening. Relatively, with such different options of presenting their proofs, the reporters help their readers understand the situation accordingly and be able to react upon it on their own way.
