Currently, most of people in the untied state of America including those who work are struggling to make ends meet. This is because the most of living has gone high while the economic situation is not changing. For example, looking at the hourly wages do not compare with the requirements workers have to support their families do not compare. The hourly rate is low while the expenses to support their families are high. Other cost such as medical, housing, food and tax are higher compared to hourly wages earned.

There is also social stratification in the society where the wealthier people have more access to better social services such as health care and education. This makes most of the middle class workers struggle getting the basic services. The capitalistic nature of the American society is also making workers to be paid fewer wages because most of the employees are more focused on profit. They pay workers low wages so that they can increase their profit margin. There is also discrimination in most jobs according to gender, education status, which makes many, workers fall in low classes according to the social stratification making them receive low wages. Other economic changes that have occurred in the United States of America, for example, disinvestment in the   economy, deindustrialization and displacements in American jobs have also contributed to the struggles that Americans are experiencing. All these factors that happen in the society have made the gap between the wealthy population, the middle and the poor populations where most workers belong. This has contributed to the high cost of living that is making most of the American population find life hard.
