1A)
The difference between how “democratic ideal “ is applied and the way it is perceived is that It is applied in an authoritarian manner in which even schools are encouraged to learn about the various branches of Government to aid the children in understanding the noble origins and operations of political systems, urging faith to democratic workings. However, it is perceived as belonging to a select few who have held power, thereby leaving doubts in the expression” Government of the people, by the people for the people”. This is a true democracy in which power is equitably distributed, without any group politically dominant, in spite of the fact that the Government is run by a group of wealthy men in Washington.
The difference between a socialist and a capitalist society is that a socialist society has all the goods possessed by the state or the public, whereas the capitalist society is the one in which resources, whether monetary or otherwise are privately owned. Also the capitalist society is founded on the perception that competition brings out the best in the people, while socialist society believes that cooperation is the way through which a society should coexist. In a capitalist society, everyone works for their own wealth, whereas in the socialist society everyone works for wealth which is distributed equally to the members of the society.
If we live in a capitalist society, economic issues are such a political concern, because people have been alienated politically therefore becoming less likely to take part in many important things. The political class is also involved with many wealth creating ventures, and thus would fear to be asked to turn their wealth into public wealth
The four sociological perspectives regarding the Government in the US are the business dominance perspective, structuralism perspective, power elite perspective and the pluralist perspective. I find the power elite perspective as the most “correct” because truly power has been concentrated among those holding top positions in the largest bureaucratic organizations in the Unite States. Institutions such as lobbyist groups and political action committees strengthen the democratic process in the United States.
1B)
Paraphrasing the popular expression “those who fail to learn the mistakes of History are doomed to repeat them”, may be used in the development of America’s military as well as the rise of the Military Industrial Complex. The current justification of its continued existence comes in the form that a continuous number of nations are becoming members of the “nuclear Club”
2a)
The three reasons for the economic disparities in the US are; poverty, gender and age, which have resulted to social gaps between the haves and the have not’s. Poverty is the social positions of lacking material possessions including the basic social amenities. Social factors such as lacking in education can result in poverty, especially coupled with the leaderships’ unwillingness to support the people in the society who are disadvantaged in one way or the other.
Equalization of income and wealth are believed to be ways that can eliminate poverty. However, the same can reduce people’s incentives to work or achieve high paying occupations because people mat tend to relax when they have been given access to things that they have not sweat for.
The difference between wealth and income is fundamentally that wealth is tangible stock, whereas income is a flow. Wealth could be measured at a particular point in time, as it is the buildup of assets and can be turned into money upon selling.
Some of the structural changes that took place in the United States since 1945 are that there was attack of pluralism thereby allowing for the people to earn what is rightfully theirs. Great changes happened in the political systems with wealthy business men and industrialists exercising large amounts of power over the federal Government as well as its policies. It is true that the US economic system allows for anyone to become wealthy because it des not follow the pluralistic type of wealth creation. Any efforts employed by any man or woman in the American soil never goes unappreciated.
Q3)
Ecology is a term used to refer to the environment, describing all factors as well as study scales that are external to an organism, which may include biotic factors such as radiation, temperature chemistry light, geology and climate coupled with biotic factors like cells, genes, organisms con-specifics and other species sharing a habitat.
An ecosystem is principally characterized by combined biological and physical environmental components. The abiotic factors (physical) are environmental factors such as the soil and the rocks function together with the interdependent biotic organisms, such as animals and plants within the same habitat. The major form of environmental pollution is the global warming.
Q4)
The concept of global warming is such that there is an increase in the average temperature of the air in the earth’s near surface as well as the oceans since the mid 20th century and it continues with the same heating trend. The concept has it that the alleged increase in temperature has resulted from the increased concentration of greenhouse gases, emanating from human being’s activity like burning of fossil fuel and deforestation.
However, in the quest to correct the problem of global warming, the best mitigation approach would be through Carbon Capture and Storage known as CSS. Emissions may as well be sequestered from fossil fuel power plants, or removed during the hydrogen production processing. The global warming mitigations would also be accomplished through reductions in the rate of anthropogenic release of gas. Suggestions of certain models are that mitigations can rapidly begin to slow global warming, but temperatures will substantially go down after many years.
Resource Depletion is a term that refers to the exhaustion of raw materials within a certain locality region. It results in environmental degradation such as the weakening of the ground.
The Carbon footprint refers to the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions caused by an event, organization, or product, often expressed in terms of Carbon Dioxide or the other greenhouses gas equivalent to it. E.g. while using hydroelectric power; my Carbon footprint is 3, which means that the emissions of carbon released are minimal. On America dream and luxurious consumption, as well as materialism do not amount to being eco-friendly. This is because most of the vehicles associated with that produce a lot of carbon gases to the atmosphere resulting to an increase in the chances of global warming.
If we were to be eco-friendly, the American dream, which is characterized by massive emissions of carbon to the atmosphere, would have to change in cutting down the emissions which would mean stopping the usage of the emitters. Technology can help in altering the current trend in which it would aid in articulating where to use or not to use certain emitters of Carbon, or where the extraction of minerals would lead to degradation of the environment.
