The United Nations Organization council for developmental sports is basically one of the primary sub-organization of the world’s largest institution designed to provide huge opportunities to members of the society especially when it comes to empowering the youth to perform better and become more effective in the ways by which they handle the most compelling situations in their country. One of the countries focused on by UNOSD is that of South Africa primarily with an aim to empower the younger generation to face a better sense of their future based on competitive and motivational sports.
In consideration to this matter, South African regions which include Algeria, Kenya, Ghana and Gambia are all measured according to the pace of development that they are making in sports especially in determining how this factor basically affects the overall worth of the industry towards improving the economy of the nation. Campaigns and programs from the national government have been empowered through the emergent assistance of the UNOSD.
Nevertheless, in these four particular regions, the primary centralization is likely focused on Ghana [only, for the mean time]. Resources prove that at some point, the other three regions receive lesser attention because of distance and the large population in the said regions to be within remote sections of the country. People who are supposed to cooperate with the system of development that sports programs are supposed to make upon the targeted communities. With this particular lack of resources in the region, it could be understood how the focus of development could easily be set aside; as if making a differential mark on the thinking and perception of the people towards the role of UNOSD in their lives and even in the progress of their economy.
With the two-edged goal of UN in South Africa, the sport programs designed to keep track of how athletes are empowered and how they are given the possible chance to contribute to the advancement of the nation gives a much clearer vision on what role the UNOSD is supposed to perform in the country and the regions under its territory. Alleviating poverty and giving the younger generation a better sense of hope for the future; this is what UNOSD hopes to provide the South African population; nevertheless, this would be harder to realize if the current situation continues whereas social conflicts often serve as a hindrance to the point of development that the nation and the UN hopes to accomplish in the country.
To further improve the work of UNOSD in the country, the creation of huge events hosted by South Africa has already been pushed through in the year 2010 as the World Cup was held in the country. This brought in comprehensive increase in the country’s economy, while also introducing it to the international field of sports industry; one that basically gives a recognizable reputation for the country, its teams and its players. Putting the country in the map, this event has created a new name and a new color for the South African community; one that was highly inviting and interesting for investors; which relatively develops the overall economic growth patterns of the country.
This event has basically improved the overall sports culture in the nation; making it a part of the tourism campaign of the country. With sports utilized as one of the most effective tools in empowering the youths and aiding them to become assets in the community instead of putting them aside to serve as slaves or to undergo the pressures of social oppression; it is expected that the future of South African communities would become more responsive towards the call for adjustment, development and transformations for modernity; one that would specifically put South Africa back into the world map as one of the most developed regions around the globe.
