Creating a warm and cosy environment from a cool space

Space

The image shows the warm environment creation from a cool space. This is a relatively small space but with the right execution of the design, it can become an element of warmth and a cozy place. The color of this space will not be changed and be left to its original color i.e. white. The reason is that a darker tone color can cause the space to look smaller.

Line

From the image, we can see that the lines movement in this room are very clean and crispy. As we want to attain a Bow design and warmth, a D curved design handle would help to balance with the curved tap selected already. By making the pendant lamp shades larger, we can create more curves which evokes this crisp kitchen image to a calmer sense.

Shape

I would like to keep some curved touches and make this kitchen contemporary so that square shapes can be made which soften this space.

Color

As described already, darker shades will make the room look smaller so, I wouldn’t change the rooms color. A brighter color would give a contemporary theme.

Texture

In order for this kitchen space to have a warmer sense, I would transform the texture and materials of the floor to a natural style of bamboo. As this texture will give an eco-friendly and a warm environment. On the floating counter, the bamboo work top would be used.

Light

As there is a lot of natural and artificial light in this room so, the only thing I would like to change is to make the lamp shades look larger. This can be done by increasing the curves and enhancing the focal point which will create a warmer atmosphere. I would make the color of the lamps red to give a more intimate and warmer dining experience.

Pattern

I don’t want to make the kitchen seem more cluttered so, I would keep the minimum patterns.

Balance

By making a few changes as described above, I would create a sense of balance in this kitchen design. Apart from adding the warm features in this room, I would keep some of the contemporary things.

Rhythm and Repetition

To give a repetition sense, I would choose the D style stainless steel Bow handles which would be kept with the cupboards and the white walls. This will keep the contemporary sense in this kitchen. I would also develop a mosaic splash mirror which will attain the sense of style. In order to keep a rhythm in the style, I would work top and timber floors to have the outdoor flow.

Emphasis

The emphasis mostly will be on lightning as the pendant shades have to be enlarged. Another emphasis will be on the floor and wok top by making them timber which will keep the texture of the kitchen warm.

Doors and Windows Working Harmoniously

In this image, the majority of the components are part of the theme identifiable to a Georgian style theme. In order to create the style of harmony, this can be attained with the help of this façade i.e. by slashing the windows with plains that are small, paneling the doors, simplifying the design of chimneys, exposing the stone work, dormers, creating veranda posts and building a symmetrical façade. All of these designs are part of the Victorian style Georgian period.

The element of this theme aligns harmoniously with the windows and doors of the house through style. The windows and door sizing are balanced visually with the proportion to please aesthetically from the ratio of three is to five. The scheme of color also is harmonious due to all the tones of colors. The other reason for their harmony is due to the formal color which matches with the formal lines and styles that are used to develop harmony. We can see in between the shape and line there is harmony and this conveys a synonymous message to the theme overall. In this theme and design style, the lines are formed formally and are squared, straight and in a formal shape. Thus, this line creates harmony between the shape, style and theme of the house.

Emphasizing a Price of Statement

The main aim is to draw attention and setting the décor direction and spontaneously deflecting the attention of the features that are less desirable.
The image shows the painting of the fireplace and I would like to draw attention towards it. The texture of the fireplace will pop the color which will catch your attention towards it because the rest of the décor’s direction is already been fixed to face it. The color of this fireplace will be changed from tertiary violet red to evoke mood as it would draw more attention and this color can’t be ignored. This image is already in the placement that is prime as we can view it from the starting point. The placement of furniture and setting will allow the painting to take the stage of center.

As the room is big, this will allow the accommodation to balance both the needs for the room to be functional. By adding the color contrast, I would like to put on the coffee table a green plant instead of the candles. I would increase the space surrounding the painting as a wide space gives a more grabbing attention. This principle is already applied by the art galleries towards their valuable paintings that are hung alone to give a generous space. In order to achieve balance, the textures range in this room must be achieved even they are all in the tone of beige. The addition of fireplace will give the sufficient space and attention.
