Essay

I attended a concert at the first Christian church. The theme was springs camerata. According to the producers Springs Camerata is a collection of fine string players coming out of the Colorado Springs community. They started out as a small  musicians’ group gathering regularly to play chamber music art the First Christian Church’s annual chamber music concert. At the concert the group’s performance was excellent. They presented Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos Nos. 3,4, 5 and 6 along with a few other popular string works such as Baroque string   After performing over time and holding many concerts the group has grown into a new string ensemble. They play without a conductor. Their goal is to produce music for chamber ensembles.

In April 2013 the group staged their First Christian Church concert. At that concert they featured music written by Handel, Vivaldi, Hovhaness and Mendelssohn. Since then they have been linking skills with the Colorado Springs Choral Society. Together they performed their first spring concert last year.

This concert followed the same pattern as those they have performed before, but the feature was on a number of composers rather than one. These composers included Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767); Franz Schubert (1787-1828); Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) and Gerald Finzi (1901-1956). This concert was very educational and I liked it.

In my opinion the music was incredible because the original Camerata was made up of intellectuals, poets and musicians who came together in Florence during the late 1500s. For me this made the recitals of a very high quality. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) recitals were thrilling. They used violins to project the musical sentiments to the audience.
