In a situation requiring that a firm must hire additional employees while at the same time promoting the serving staff, a staffing plan becomes an important tool. In a similar manner, to attend to any sort of a challenge, the best place to start is a design of a staffing plan. McDonalds Fast Foods Company is an organization which can derive potential benefits from the staffing plan. The major operations of the company revolve around production of fast foods whose intake is required in relatively high quantity on a daily basis. There are many fast foods chain which operates restaurants as franchises due to the popularity of their operations, and McDonald’s is one such company.  The company is a worldwide food supplier that specializes in ready made fast foods like burgers, pizza, chicken servings and other fast moving consumer delicacies to boot.

The company is operating under the philosophy of ‘one world, one burger;’ this ideally means that there is a consistent size and taste that each product from this fast foods company must meet, we call it benchmarked quality standards. However to meet this standard, the company must employ properly implemented staffing plan, this is a feat the company is achieving through excellent staffing plan. The components of the plan shall be the development of strategies that shall guide the process of recruitment of the applicants who may be identified to be the most suitable.  It is furthermore important to consider a discussion of how the strategy is bound to be legally compliant. The other considerations in the staffing plan are the number of people required in diverse departments. The development of appropriate strategies of recruitment of the applicants is another important consideration (Andrew, 134-134).

The main aim of this paper is to analyze the distinct staffing plan Strategies applied in this company and how these strategies are influencing the effectiveness and efficiency at Mc Donald’s, this may be used in line with other franchises and fast food outlets to gauge their level of service (Haugan, 119-155).

McDonalds being a fast foods outlet requires that the management put more emphasis on implementing a staffing plan in the department of customer service. Majority of the operations are customer based and therefore excellence in this department is an important consideration in the organization. In this department, it is important to consider the position of the manager, his assistant and four associates. The associates are charged with the duty of responding to the assistant manager who is further directed by the customer service manager.

The recruitment of these positions requires that the HR management sends advertisements to employment columns in newspapers in addition to television commercials. McDonalds corporate website can also be used for the same purpose. In the advertisement, there is anticipated to be differences in the job description for the various categories of vacancies based on the needed responsibility, the level of education along with the past experience of the candidate.

Another important department that needs the attention of the HR management in the implementation of the staffing plan is the Marketing department. The importance of a staffing plan in McDonalds is based on the fact that the point of view of the clients of the organization arises out of this department. It is a potential bridge between the production department and the consumers (Andrew, 134-134). The staffs in this department have the responsibility of advertising the products and services of the organization using a variety of methods. New hires are very crucial in this department as it plays a very crucial role in the organization. The media of choice available to them include the television, radio as well as the newspaper. The personnel required in this department include the Marketing director, his/her assistant along with six associates who are supposed to perform their duties under the managers. An effective staffing plan contributes to an efficiently and effectively run organization, this is true even at times of economic crisis like the present economic recession. The major focus of an effective staffing plan in McDonalds Fast Foods Company is the smooth flow of operations in the company through production and distribution of goods and services of the company.

Finance and accounting department in McDonalds Fast Foods Company would also require recruitment of potential applicants. The future of the other employees in the company depends on the roles and duties of the personnel in this department. They are responsible for recording, analyzing as well as improving the manner in which the company accumulates revenue. The finance department plays an important role of paying the salaries of the employees in all other departments existing within the organization. They are also responsible for keeping of all the records including the loss and the profit and other important charts that reflect the success or the failure of the business (Haugan, 89-125). Considering these important function of this department, the potential applicants should have sufficient skills and experience in accounting and book keeping. McDonalds Fast Foods Company will therefore need to recruit a Finance manager, his/ her assistant, an account handler and an assistant to this position. This department shall also require considering the position of five associates.

Another department in the organization that should be incorporated in the staffing plan Development department which is charged with the responsibilities of property along with their construction. The duties of this department include organization of and implementation of manufacturing of the products of the company. It is through this department that the aims and objectives of the organization are achieved thorough cheap and high quality production (Haugan, 89-125). This department therefore requires recruiting the departmental manager, one assistant manager, and eight associates. The position of the technical team in this department should also be considered in the staffing plan.

McDonalds Fast Foods Company serves over three million clients everyday and this is an issue that calls for consideration of consistent goal of quality. The importance of an efficient staffing plan is based on the efforts of the company to uphold quality starting at the crop to the counter. The highest levels of standards as well as specifications are therefore needed and this depends on the competence of recruitment.

The Human Recourses department in McDonalds Fast Foods Company needs to consider hiring of competent and experienced members of staff in the above mentioned areas for a successful staffing of the company. An important point of consideration during the process is the education level of the applicants coupled with the level of experience which shall be listed clearly in the advertisements to ensure that only the best candidates are considered for the positions. The Human Resource department should also consider applying extensive processes of hiring because the selected applicants will shape the future of the organization.
