Strategic management

According to (Blatstein, 32), entails an all-inclusive amalgamation of business continuous process as well as activities of use in the organization in systematic coordination and alignment of resources to match the vision, mission as well as the strategy in the organization.  Gabriel, Joseph & Yves, (123-145) has argued that, the activities of strategic management are anticipated to change the organization static plan in to a system that is associated with meaningful feedback about strategic performance based on the decisions made in the organization. Gabriel, Joseph & Yves, (123-145)also postulates that, strategic management facilitates the growth of organization strategic plan and changes in many other circumstances in the organization. Cox, Daspit, McLaughlin & Jones, (27-28) on the other hand argues that, strategic management translates in to strategic execution which subsequently yields systematic implementation of the organization strategic plan.

Importance of strategic management to organizations

Strategic management offers the most ‘hard skill’ to organization managers that facilitate in the proactive management of businesses as well as projects in the organization. It also allows the managers to focus on the long term strategic process in the organization thus eliminating the daily management hiccups.

Strategic management responsible

Blatstein, (32) argues that the organization strategic manager has the ultimate responsibility of acting on the larger strategic mission in the organization. On divisional level the organization functional manager addresses more specific issues at departmental level. The role of strategic manager is to strike a balance between the priorities of departments and the goals of the entire organization and make a decision on the best approach to achieve the objectives of the organization. While the functional managers advocate for resource sufficiency in their individual departments, the strategic manager is there to mediate any upcoming conflicts within departments and rule on the most efficient resource allocation to benefit the entire organization.
