Structure of GIG Analysis and Discussion, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 569

Essay

The organizational chart of GIG is relatively effective in terms of dividing the tasks into several departments. Such division of tasks allows the organization to define their operation based on the excellent performance of each department. For instance, the Board of Directors being situated at the top command of all the other umbrellas of operation makes it easier for the organization to accomplish success based on a unified form of performance that follows through the basic cultures of the business as they relate to their clients and the employees working within their midst.

From the board of directors, three other hierarchies of operational administrators follow through the line. The chairman, the managing director and the general manager all operate under the umbrella of the Board of Directors imposing that they have the responsibility of reporting to the higher grade of governing operators to make sure that he organization is operating according to expectations of the board and the other stakeholders of the business.

While it is impressive that the division of hierarchy among the top head administrators of the business is evidently effective in establishing the foundation and the backbone of the organization, it could be realized that the division of tasks among these administrators could be observed as rather ineffective nor is it properly balanced. Relatively, the management operators above the chairman are expected to function as the final chain of communication between the three administrators below the hierarchy before the board of directors. Serving as the shock absorbers, these managing agencies within the organization and operating administrators namely that of the Board Executive Committee, the Board Investment Committee , the Board Risk Management Committee and the Board Audit Committee are designated to deal with the problems and issues related to the organization’s lower edge of operators. Before such issues would be decided to be submitted to the board, the containment of problems within this lower edge of management apart from the board is necessary to make sure that the board would be able to handle the most comprehensive options by which the organization could progress further in the market.

The downside of the organizational chart of GIG is that of the imbalance division of responsibility given under the care of the Chairman, the managing director and CEO and that of the General Manager. Observably, even though there are lower-edge leaders under them, it could be easier to handle for these administrators if the conditions of responsibilities they have upon their shoulders are made less complex through lowering down the division of groups included in the overall operation of the organization. The division of operational committees with that of the financial departments is specifically effective. Nevertheless, separating their values for the progress of the organization should be further improved. The department dedicated to handling human resource issues could on the other end be related to the legal counsel of the organization hence protecting the manner by which the business deals with their responsibilities to their own people and to that of the people outside of their organization’ limit [likely the clients that they serve]. Insurances and other finance-related operations should be fully controlled by the authorities on financial department hence aiming to make a great impact on the proper process of function that the organization engages with. This will allow the business to operate fully under the proper control of the different administrators covering the different operations of the organization.
