Students With Various Learning Specificities, Essay Example

My research focus is on defining the ways of combining students with various learning specificities into groups for increasing the efficiency of learning for each and every student in the group, or at least not mitigating it. The issues related to my research focus include the personal learning types depending on such features as introvert and extravert personalities, abstract and concrete thinkers, logical and intuitive learners, etc. There is a great variety of personal traits of character that define the best paths for each particular student to learn effectively. However, the learning process and the formal curriculum does not always take into account these learning peculiarities, which makes some students lag behind, and others advance without any challenges. Hence, this action research is aimed at working out an assessment tool for grouping students into effective learning groups and choosing activities and modes of learning that would uncover the group’s potential to the maximum.

The data collection process is under way, and at present, the personal features of all group members have already been assessed, and their personal profiles have been created. The rest of data will be collected by designing a series of class activities and registering the success with which students perform them individually and in groups. The intended change will be registered with the help of comparing the pre-research academic success and satisfaction indicators, and the post-research indicators. The key stakeholders include teachers, children, and parents. Teachers will benefit from the research results, since they will receive a toolkit for designing effective class interactions for more effective material retention; children will benefit because their learning will correspond to their individual needs and learning modes, while parents will receive the benefit of seeing their children advance more considerably in the learning process.
