Introduction
Identifying the level of evidence in research is an important step towards determining which types of evidence are appropriate for application in the practice environment. Therefore, this process distinguish between the different elements which support a practical application that deserves further consideration. Most importantly, nurses must be apprised of situations whereby they are able to contribute to the evidence base by selecting evidence that has great value for the practice setting.
Body
Evidence-based practice must demonstrate a philosophical yet critical approach to determining the level of specific types of evidence in order to accomplish the intended objectives and to examine evidence on the pyramid scale to determine its quality and level of contribution (Levin & Chang, 2014). Quality of evidence must be a critical component of the practice environment and must demonstrate a high level of understanding of which types of evidence are most appropriate to expand upon and utilize these forms to improve quality of care for patients (Lee & Vielemeyer, 2011). In this capacity, nurses must reflect upon the needs of their patients and demonstrate their ability to be effective in communicating a clear vision of how nursing practice should move forward (Lee & Vielemeyer, 2011).
Conclusion
Nurses working with research must identify levels of evidence that are appropriate and timely in meeting patient care needs, while also considering the manner in which nurses evaluate the level and quality of evidence and apply it to the practice setting. This will encourage the development of new ideas to facilitate evidence-based solutions to problems that impact nursing administration of care and treatment to many patients.
