Technology is a branch of knowledge dealing with the use and creation of technical ways and their interaction with society, life, and environment using subjects such as engineering, industrial arts, pure science and applied science.

The United States differs from other countries in the world in many aspects. The socially driven uses of technology in the U.S. are many and one of the most developed in the world. The information technology, which is the key to the current technological society, is rampant in the United States and most people access it easily at present. Many American homes enjoy connection to the internet unlike many world countries, which still face problems of internet connections even in government offices and higher institutions of learning. Schools in the U.S. have connections to the internet and students learn with ease enjoying recent materials and electronic libraries. This is still a problem especially for most developing countries. Thus, the highly developed technology in the U.S. has yielded to various uses. For instance, businesses are now able to buy and sell online making business run quick and maximize profits. Use of social networks has also led to relay of communication and strong ties between friends and relatives.

How the advancement of technology since 1900 has shaped U.S. society

The year 1900 to the present time has witnessed many technological advances. This took place because of the influence of various technological changes. These advancements have not only used culture but also produced culture. Innovations and inventions made during this time have helped the society to deal with everyday activities more easily than before. Studies such as those dealing with organizational characteristics of research, social characteristics of business firms, governmental support, and policy amongst others have focused resources and attention on certain direction changes rather than others. The advancement of technology has helped a lot in solving technological problems pressing the U.S. society where technological traditions play a principal role. Technological advancement continues, and much will happen to the generations to come.
