Pages: 1

Words: 342

Essay

I pads, smart phones, genetic engineering, sixth sense invention is just a minute part of the endless list of recent, most marvelous technologies, since the beginning of existence of man. For example, laser surgery is replacing the blades in the surgical rooms. Unlike in the past, it takes a few seconds to close a ten million deal with a business associate who is half way around the world. Of course, technology is one of the best things that have ever happened to mans existence.

Technology saves time, money (resources) and labor. Technology makes life bearable. For most of us, we cannot get by, without mobile phones. We are always sending emails, calling, texting and social networking, which have become a regular part of humans lives. For this reason, culture has always affected individuals in one way or the other. Advancement of technology, especially in developing countries, causes behavioral and social changes, which eventually causes the rise of controversies, which are culture related. This influences, for example, dressing trends, which may defy the cultural practices of dressing in that community. The embracement of technology and development in communities is most effective if the novel changes are at harmony with the social cultural aspects of that community.

Development is a process that resembles the growth of a baby into an independent adult in the future. Developing countries should embrace the new technologies in agriculture and medicine, since this is the seed of prosperity in the future. There are other forms of technology, which have created terror in the world. For those who understand the science of nuclear weapon production they know the destruction bound to happen to humanity, both in the genetic makeup and sudden mortality rate, if it falls in the wrong hands. The treaty of nuclear non-proliferation aimed at preventing developments and acquisition of nuclear weapons. We think that having a nuclear weapon in the backyards is protection, but it is not. Nuclear weapons are the worst creations introduced to man by technology. Despite this devastation, technology is the core around, which development surrounds.
