Teen Parent Maturing Into the Role, Essay Example

The article that I have chosen for myself is “Teen Parent Maturing Into the Role.” The reason as to why I believe that this article in specific speaks to me is because of how admirable it is that a high school freshmen is able to have so much with so little. What I mean by this is that despite the fact that she has to take care of a baby at such a young age, she still have a positive outlook on life and believes that she will someday be able to go to law school. The reason as to why this is so inspiring is because not everyone would be able to have this kind of attitude at such a young age. There are many individuals who would not see this situation as a blessing, but rather, as a curse. This would be because the girl is no longer able to go out with her friends whenever she wishes because she now has a baby to take care of.

The conventions of the publication that I have chosen for myself in this article are that it is only 800 words long, it is written for a general audience because of the simple language that it uses, and there is really no bias within the article because Corey Kilgannon, the author, only presents the information as fact, stating what has happened and everything that individuals that have to do with the soy have said before.

Personally, I find this story truly inspiring because of how a young girl can have such an optimistic take on life. I know that if I would be in the same position as Eleanor, the mother, I would not be as happy as her.
