Question 1. Consider how advanced Egyptian society must have been for its architects to design pyramids of such enormity and precision.
The architecture and design of the Egyptian pyramids is an indication of how the society was more advanced. Different theories have been suggested as to how the pyramids were constructed. This has been from both professional and analysts. It is believed they were built by use of core stones in filling the bulk of the pyramid that formed the tiers. These tiers resulted in the internal steps that led to the construction of step pyramids. One of the suggestions on how the stones were ferried to the topmost part of the pyramids was by way of constructing the steps around the pyramid and pull it along the steps.
Question 2. Comment on the long-lasting nature of mummification and what it indicates about the Egyptian scientific community.
Mummification in ancient Egypt began as a way of burying the dead in dry pits due to lack of cultivatable land. It was a combination of environment and climate factors that resulted in the mummification in ancient Egypt. This was advanced later on by scientists in their experiments which has led to several other advanced experiments I other parts of the world on mummifications.
Question 3. Discuss the relationship between the three great pyramids at Giza and the three stars in the belt of the Orion constellation.
According to Ian Lawton, the theory of correlation between the three pyramids and Orion constellation is not factual. The replaning of the pyramids and their theories advanced in the various arguments does not strike any meaningful balance or relationship between the two.
Question 4. Discuss the role of religion in ancient Egyptian culture.
Religion played a major role in the ancient Egypt in various ways. The Egyptians believed in divine kingship where Pharaoh was not only their king but also their god. They believed also there is life after death. This led to mummification as to preserve the place for the spirit to dwell and construction of the tombs for the Pharaohs. In the absence of problems in their land, they believed the king and his priests were doing a commendable work and vise versa.
Question 5. Discuss the connection between the pyramid’s shape and how it relates to the pharaoh’s fate after death, according Egyptian religious beliefs.
According to the ancient Egypt, Pharaoh was their king and god. They believed that after his death he was to become an Osiris. This led to the construction of pyramids with tombs where to burry the king after his death. They were constructed in the manner knowing that they will be the tombs for their kings after their deaths.
