According to the Colorado Rules and Regulations Schedule, this organization would be considered a “large child care center”. The administration must include an appointed director that defines and enforces policies in accordance to licensing rules. The director is also responsible for the selection of staff. The responsibilities of each employee will be decided by the director and this will be provided to them at the beginning of employment. The director must ensure that each employee had or will be having training with regards to “policies and procedures of the center, including those related to hygiene, sanitation, food preparation practices, proper supervision of children, and reporting of child abuse” prior to the start of employment. All personnel must demonstrate knowledge of their ability to care for children and be in good legal and health standing.

The director must have an Early Child Education degree that covers specific coursework. Kindergarten teachers must have the same level of education as the director and be certified by the state. Staff aides must be at least 18 years old and volunteers must be supervised and deemed to be qualified by the director. For all groups except for the infants, 2 adults must be available because there are more than 9 children. For infants, there must be one staff member for every 5 infants, so 2 in this case. One staff member for every 5 toddlers (12 to 36 months), so 2 in this case. One staff member is needed for every 7 toddlers (36 months to 3 years), so 2 are needed in this group. For pre-school and pre-kindergarten, 2 adults will be needed as well. Last, 3 staff members will be needed for the mixed-age group.
