The Democratic Convention, Essay Example

As the election date nears, the need to gather votes from the people of the American society grows ever more essential for a candidate such as Barack Obama. The question is, how would a person of his caliber deal with the controversies of his current administration and gain the attention of the people back especially that there were so many expectations from him that were not completely met during his years of being the nation’s president? Shall he dwell on the shortcomings of his administration or shall he point out the good aspects of his years of governance? Whatever the choice maybe, he utilized the Democratic Convention as a fine source of national confidence, hoping to gain the attention of the people back and help them believe that America still has so much to embrace in the coming years in case the people vote for him again.

In his speech, he mentions:

America, I never said this journey would be easy, and I won’t promise that now. Yes, our path is harder – but it leads to a better place. Yes our road is longer – but we travel it together. We don’t turn back. We leave no one behind. We pull each other up. In relation to this finale, current president Barrack Obama actually shows how his consistent desire of making America a great nation not only for Americans but for all has benefited the recognition of the world towards the country’s reputation. At the same time, his efforts also create a more responsive community of native residents that is able to withstand the need to welcome immigrants while relatively surviving for themselves in their own country.  Speaking out to the charisma of the people, Barack Obama tries to win over the crowd through pointing out that it was not the government that must be accounted for the failures nor shall it be praised for the developments of the current administration. Instead, it is the people of the nation who should be given specific regard for all the changes that happened during the recent years in the country. In the speech of the president, the people are the ones who made it possible for the changes to happen, and if they continue with the same desire, they are likely to win the fight against all the other situations that they are trying to survive as a nation today and even towards the future years of governance.
