The Destruction of the American Christmas, Essay Example

It is that time of year with Thanksgiving filling the homes with carve faces along with turkey as the main meal of every family. It is a wonderful moment for families that are filled with the love and unity of the family unit during the Christmas. My fondest memories is during the Christmas holidays, hold many memories of nice neighborhood gatherings at our house including our distant relatives from all over the United States. Our home echoed with Christmas spirit, family laughter, love, and joy (Teller, pg.34).The anticipation of Christmas is in the air while the stores have started to put out Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving, which is a tradition of an American Christmas. It is one the most celebrate days of the year and many secular organizations are trying to destroy the American Christmas spirit.

The family may not have the time during the year to gather because of work, family, or children. In the tradition of an American Christmas, families are making decisions concerning which family will host American Christmas or will they stay home for a special Christmas of their own. The Christmas celebration is a wonderful time of the year that brings joy to children and families while a nation comes together regardless of creed. The Christmas celebration is more than just a holiday, it is a way of life that reflects the decency, the birth of Jesus, family unity, treatment of our less fortunate and celebration of love and happiness universally. This tradition has been passed on to generation to generation, which brings joy to society every year.

The tradition of an American Christmas celebration brings joy to children and families. This is a time of year full of Christmas trees themes, gaudy silver balls, winged angels, and Santa Claus at every store. A wonderful tradition of Christmas music on the airwaves while singing about the child born on Bethlehem ringing from every radio, television, and home. These sounds not only warm the heart celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ (Christmas Music a Timeless Tradition, pg.6).The family is celebrating the birth of Jesus in a tradition of family, unity, love, thanks and peace. The atmosphere at home, work and in the stores are one of excitement with carolers singing, children playing, families gathering putting differences aside and the world light up with multicolor lights. It appears that the angels make it cold with snow just a few weeks before Christmas. The leaves are splendid full of colorful collages with everyone spreading good will and happiness.

The traditional Christmas will have the green Christmas trees full of color and life with the angel brightly light at the top of the tree. The parents decorate the homes with beautiful lights that light up the sky and brighten up anyone’s heart that sees the display. The goodwill is on display because every store, home and mall has the greeting of “Merry Christmas.”The entire society from news, sports, grocery stores, schools, churches, and every home brings some kind of joy with at a minimum holiday smile. The American tradition of Christmas has every little child breaming with enthusiasm about the holiday while trying to be good so Santa can bring it its favorite toy. The traditional Christmas is about the children because they remind us that the children are the future and good will is spread in the name of Jesus Christ birth. The celebration is about the birth of Jesus spreading celebration which heals all wounds of society while bring children, mothers, fathers, and grandchildren together for one day forgetting about what is different but remembering what is holy, good, wholesome about the Christmas holiday.

The naysayers want to destroy the spirit of Christmas because of they feel too much money and advertising is spent on material things versus celebrating the birth of Christ. However, it is not true; Christmas has positive affect on businesses, churches, families, community, and invidualsbecause they practice giving, family unityand love. The spirit of Christmas lives on getting more popular each year helping the economy. The employers are more generous at the end of the year during Christmas holidays. The society as a whole is trying to feed the hungry and disadvantage by giving away free food, large financial giveawaysand gifts for children all over the world. The Salvation Army helps every families that have a need including children all over the world. The United Way helps the community during Christmas with financial help, rental assistance, utility bills, food, toys, and moral support for those living in poverty. The essence of Jesus words enters everyone’s heart because this day touches the minds and hearts of many people during the Christmas celebration. This time of year gives society reflection on the birth of Jesus but also reminds us about the joys in life, especially the innocence of our children.

Children are the greatest gift in life while their hearts are filled with anticipation of Santa Claus coming to bring them something for Christmas. This Christmas day celebration brings memories and traditions to families that will be passed down for decades. The tradition of love, peace, humanity, dignity and the birth of Jesus Christ. On Christmas day, even the Atheist allows their children to celebrate Christmas because it is a joyous time of year. Some atheist have no problem with the celebration just the meaning of Christmas along with the commercialization of children’s holiday.

Commercialization

There are those that condemn Christmas as amoney making business scheme to get Americans to spend money in the stores. They believe the entire reason for celebrating has been lost in Macy’s sales, reason to self-indulge with new toys or new houses. The television commercials promote Christmas like the Super Bowl to attract more people to spend money. At every corner everyone is cashing in on Christmas from banks, schools, malls, department stores, and dollar stores to name a few. The televisions spend billions are advertising that new GI Joe that you child must have to be happy for Christmas. The naysayers believe that Christmas is no longer a celebration of Jesus Christ birth. According to Restad(2012), Christmas is a commercialized racket that capitalizes on free enterprise to maximum revenues during this holiday.The author Restad(2012) states that the American Christmas has move away from the traditional of children hanging stockings on the chimney while waiting on Santa Claus. The careful placed ginger bread man, smell of evergreen trees, and hundreds of lights and candles.

The commercials do not mention this is a day of Christ, the stores just want to advertise, the media is celebrating without acknowledging Jesus Christ birthday, and the moneychangers ensure Americans go into debt during the Christmas holidays. The economy depends on the influx of cash and credit spent over the Christmas holidays that bring Christmas sales, Christmas discounts, credit card limits increased and billions spent on marketing the Christmas holiday. The sports franchises make deals with the television stations to share profits during the Christmas holiday. The baseball stadium will be redecorated with sponsors so they can sale to consumers with billboards during the sports event, thus Christmas is commercialized. According to the Debatewise(2014), Christmas starts too early losing the true intent of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. The marketing and advertising starts early so the businesses have more time to make money at the end of the year.

Atheists Attack Christmas

The atheist are very smart because they choose to fight and attack Christmas in California because they have a historical past of bringing new laws that impact the entire country. The atheist wantsnegative coverage locally, nationally, and globally to spread the attacks on Christmas celebrations in the United States. The trouble starts in the sunny Santa Monica, California. This is a very laid-back state with it constituents more tolerable to the actions of atheist. This same attack in the South would yield some different results however, the atheist are strategically attacking Christmas. In tribute to Jesus Christ, California has accepted the moniker” The City of the Christmas Story. In the Palisades Park that have on display a large sign painted of Jesus Christ in the Bethlehem, which the atheist want it removed because it’s on government property(Pesta,pg.10).

The atheistadvocates does not believe that the government, cities, or states have the right to make propaganda on public grounds celebrating Christimas. The legal argument by Atheist surrounds their right to challenging the open display represents the government (state) supporting church initiatives. The atheist followers believe that have legal standing that the separation of church and state must be honored. This argument concerning the glorification of Christmas on government property leaves the decision to the California Justice System, led by well-known Atheist Damon Vick. Damon Vicks actions are a direct attack on Christmas celebration using the freedom of expression. The constant judicial litigious countermeasures by Damon Vix bring attacks against Christmas. His goal is to condemn the holiday celebration with Christmas trees and public displays of Jesus. In retaliation, Vix has posted his own atheist signs against Christmas (Pesta, pg.1).

The atheist has tried to discredit Christmas because they believe it is a mythical celebration that goes against the atheist beliefs and traditions. They are constantly making the point that Christians have lost faith in the belief of Jesus Christ. The atheist advocates have successfully made organizations become overly sensitive to the American Christmas holiday. These attacks on Christmas are purposely done to erode the spirit and meaning of the Christmas holiday celebrations. In many business corners, they celebrate the holiday but they do not dare say “Christmas Holiday” because they might offend the non-believers.

The atheist has crept into the minds of the society using the First Amendment to get them to open the proverbial black box. The atheist attack Christmas as commercialization, mythical beliefs, Christian’s loss of faith, and state and church working together in society. Atheist believe Christmas holiday is nothing more than a marketing scheme to trick the American people into going into debt for the Christmas holidays. The propaganda on television, radio and in the media all have monetary reasons for wanting to push the spending on Christmas day. Atheist point out that very seldom do you hear or see anyone celebrating the birth of Jesus. The point out that the celebration for Christmas is wrap in symbolism like mythical characters and that Britain has banned the celebration of Christmas. The British population considers themselves Christians but they do not believe in Christmas while British employers have prohibited Christian ornamentations for concern of offending non-Christians (Burkeman, pg.1). The atheist relate to Britain because they support the destruction of the Christmas holiday celebrations. The point was to show the disdain for the holiday globally to gather support for the destruction of Christmas.

The atheists are making an organized effort to destroy Christmas celebrations in the public arena. They are using the same commercialization, advertising, and free enterprise to discredit the Christmas holiday. The perfect example is Damon Vix in Santa Monica, California that utilized purchasing his own public advertising in the middle of town legally discrediting Christmas. This is physiological warfare is the same way the highway signs suggest to drivers to stop for gas or for food. This advertising is to create doubt in the minds of the Christian believers that Christmas is corrupt.This strategic move in California reached millions in the media along with brings the issue church and state should be separate.

The targeted destruction of Christmas strategically concentrated on the New York area. The American atheist gathered the funds to purchase a large billboard in Times Square. This location in New York is one the most populated places with diverse people. The billboard has Santa Claus and Jesus on a cross with the caption “Keep the Merry and Dump the Myth” (Jensen, pg.1). The California and New York attacks on Christmas are not by mistake, the atheists are seeking to discredit Christmas in the cities that have the most diverse populations. There is reason for concern because the secular militant atheists are becoming aggressive on attacking Christmas tradition. The atheist are being led by the American Atheist organization who is funding the in Ohio, New York, and Utah(Klukowski, pg.1).

The targeted attacks on Christmas by atheist gain momentum because they are using the United States laws to support their the opinion that state and church should be separate. The destruction of Christmas has been shirked as just propaganda that can never stop the delivery of Christmas in the United States. Conversely, there is some merit because they are slowing affecting society such as businesses that will not use the words “Merry Christmas” so not to offend non-believers. In addition, Christmas carols are banned in some schools and environments to prevent the spreading of the celebration of Jesus.

Muslims Attack Christmas

Muslims religious beliefs are set in stone based on the Quran, therefore, they do not believe in Christmas celebrations. In Iran, Muslims are killing anyone that is a Christian or converted Christian because they believe its blasphemy against Allah. The Muslims are attacking Americans Christians on Christmas day to make a point that all people that have different beliefs will be executed or persecuted. The religious rights to choose your own choice of religion do not give families of Iran to make that choice to convert.

In American, you can convert based on your own values however, in Iran the cost is your lift. The Muslims have banned any celebration of Christmas because the Iran extremist has more control over the country than the government. The citizens and political parties are afraid to put up an Christmas tree in fear of retribution from the local extremist that do not believe Christmas belongs in Iran(CreepingSharia.com,pg.1). The Muslims in the United States have the choice to celebrate because Christmas welcomes everyone to the table. The primary naysayers are the Muslims in Iran, however, there are seculars in the United States that do not believe nor support any Christmas celebration.

To ensure that any country outside the United States understands the wrath of Iran who wants to destroy the Christmas holiday has resulted in thousands of deaths globally. According to the Islamic Terror Attacks on Christians(2011),” In many countries in the world, Christians who celebrated Christmas were killed (2598 people) including beheading, burned, slashed to death, shot or hung without any remorse. This is hatred of human beings just because they believe in Christmas celebrations. The Muslims try to strike fear in communities to make sure the population or local neighborhood cannot enjoy Christmas. The Muslims goals are to discourage any Christian from trying to convert anyone from Iran. In the United States Muslims have mosque in the city and rural parts of the land. However, it is our faith that allows them to exist without any hindrance on U. S soil. However, every time the Muslims kill an American in the name of denouncing Christmas shows how we do have faith allowing all your poor and hungry into the America.

The destruction of Christmas by Muslims is not representative of all Muslims. Some Muslims live well within the confines of America while staying true to their own religious beliefs. The teachings of Jesus teach us not to judge people based on what they worship but judge them by their deeds. During the Christmas holidays, people give unconditionally to show they believe in the birth of Jesus Christ. Muslims have used intimidation and death as a message to people living in Iran to never convert because it goes against the countries philosophy.  However, they make it difficult to determine which sector of Muslims attacks the United States airlines. There Muslims all over the world but the Muslims that attacked the airlines with a bomb was Nigerian Muslims on Christmas day flight 253(PRNewwire,pg.1). The global attack on Christmas by Muslims is consider warnings from across the waters than Americans ways of life is not welcome in their country.

The extreme Muslims want to attack America’s Christmas with fear just as the same fear instilled by historical attacks on the United States. Conversely, Muslims are using the media, television, cable, and global communications to destroy America’s Christmas day. Including killing thousands around the world to show this disdain, however, the number of deaths and threats has not slow down the popularity of Christmas celebrations in Iran and in the United States.  The extreme Muslims continue to spread death propaganda but Christmas still lives.

Leftist/Progressives attack Christmas

The progressive leftists try to destroy American Christmas using the political culture to push their agenda. The present ideas as American progress disguised as socialist agendas while attacking the foundation of America’s biblical history. The progressive leftist has no regard for Christmas or Christians because they are truly the face of communism disguised by this well-spoken political figure with freedom to travel from US to foreign lands. They true to impose their communist ways into the fabric of the United States pretending to be protectors of those religious freedoms. The subject of voting for political freedom for an atheist to enjoy the same rights of posting highway signs in support of atheism or voting to allow a downtown sign that promotes hate to gain steam in the judicial system. The progressive leftist will attempt to use any judicial, legal, or political avenue to destroy the American Christmas belief.

There is another technique used the progressive leftist in regards to the destruction of the American Christmas holiday. They use laws involving the Constitution to bring forth damaging accusations under the 1^st and 14^th Amendments to attempt destruction within our own political system. The true intention of the progressive leftist is to convince Americans and the world that Christmas is evil including undermining the United States as a country founded on Christianity. The underlying goal is to discredit the United States with misinformation, fear, and legal wizardry pointed at discrediting the Christmas foundation of Jesus birthday.

Conclusion

It is clear that Muslims, Leftist progressives, and atheists are out to destroy Christmas along with the meaning of Jesus birth. The bombs, slander, political attacks, and threatening propaganda. These techniques are getting more and more sophisticated in the name of destroying the Christmas celebrations. In addition, they are using the same constitutional rights that made this county great. The progressive leftists try to destroy American Christmas through our legal system. The Muslims try death, bombs, and terrorism to deter the Christmas day and Christianity as a whole. The seculars are using propaganda aimed at commercialization as the primary reason Americans celebrate the Christmas holiday. However, the destruction of the Christmas celebration has endured and will continue to endure to the end of time.
