Identify /define: – This is the ability to complete a task efficiently with a very high level quality.

In health care practicevarious levels of competence exist within the discipline. According to Lynn Howe (2014) there are four components—knowledge, skills, behavior, and judgment.  Knowledge must first be gained to function relevant to one’s scope of practice. Also, obtaining skills matching knowledge are required to transfer data retrieve from a classroom into actual practice.Next articulating management of real world situation is executing behavior adjustment in developing the required competence. Ultimately, adequate judgment for decision making becomes mandatory for investing into the competence (Howe, 2014).

Your professional discipline: – My professional discipline is health care management. How applicable: As a manager there are certain competencies which must be displayed in relationships with staff and the institution itself.For example, as it relates to the judgment aspect of competence it is my responsibility to adapt relevant skills in the organization decision making processes.

Concept B:  Leadership

Identify /define: –This perceived in many disciplines as social influence whereby through skill and charisma one person can voluntarily enlist the cooperation of others into completing tasks in a desired setting (Arvey, Rotundo, Johnson, Zhang& McGue, 2006 ).

 Your professional discipline: –My professional discipline is health care management

 How applicable: –Inevitably health care management requires leadership, which means executing the art of being able to engage staff/subordinates in tasks to be accomplished for the organization’s benefit. This concept ius widely used in health care at different levels because it is important as any other skill in the industry.
