The Importance of Ethical Behavior, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 428

Essay

For the ECG Company to prosper and attract many customers, then the employees need to protect the assets of the company. This is the first ethic of good conduct all the employees should have in mind. But this will or can take place if the ECG leaders and managers treat their employees with the respect and the dignity they require (Tonry, 2003).  The organization will also depend on how the employees conduct themselves whenever they are at work. For the ECG Company, the employees who respect the organization and their work mates can not be found into such practices like the stuffing the charges of the labor and the account’s expenditure, the long phone calls on the company accounts which might be as a reason of personal issues, the work areas as well as the rest rooms which are untidy due lack of cleaning them.  The employee can also engage themselves into taking some of the office supplies at their homes, the misuse of the computer peripherals like the photocopies and printers (Sylvia, 1995).

The employees can also miss the working days just complaining that he was not feeling well. But what the ECG leaders and the managers must understand is that there are many theft forms apart from what we have listed above. A person employed having the organizational pride can subject the company to the losses of time, production, overhead charges, inventiveness, professionalism, client reverence, reputation, outlook, spirit and drive (Ronney, 2009). Therefore it is important for the managers and leaders to act a very exclusive role in creating the environment where the employees are all valued as persons and treated with value and pride, equality and fairness, so that people can perform with unquestionable ethics and integrity. If this is done perfectly, it means that the employee pride will highly blossom and the theft cases will be finished to the ground (Hausen, 2001).  The managers and the leaders need to have the structure of the organization to ensure that discrimination and the harassment are not within the ECG Company. They should also check their ethics while they are in presence with the people they have employed. In short I mean that do not do anything that is going to put anybody in harms way or cause the bodily harm of any employee.
