Through movie actors, musicians, artists and educationists, the significant impact of arts on youth is evident. The past few years the federal government has constantly questioned the justification for the continued funding of arts educations in American schools. Overtime, there is enough evidence supporting the fact that fine arts have a meaningful impact in the lives of America youths. Cutting the funding of fine arts will never reduce, or get rid of nation’s budget gap. The government spends a small percentage of its money in funding the fine arts. Less than one percent of state’s funds are used in fine arts. Therefore, cutting down the funding of arts will not have insignificant or no impact on the budget instead the cultural sector will experience tremendous damage (Sabol 34).
Fine arts provide the learners with an opportunity to empty their hearts to beautiful things. It gives them a chance to feel that they are part of something, which is bigger than they are. A financial trouble by the nation should not be the reason to cut off the funding of the fine arts. The removal of fine arts will have so many impacts on the lives of youths as many youths will be jobless and exposed to and behaviors such as drug use. Fine arts are favorite subjects for most students and therefore eliminating it will mean that they will lose their best classes, which help graduate to become responsible citizens. Fine Arts assist students to develop confidence academically as research indicates students who pursue arts do well in vocabulary and general knowledge (Sabol 36). It also ensures that the students are ready for future jobs, which is crucial to the economic development of the nation.
Addressing public performance of any kind is challenging, but the difficulty can assist to boost the confidence. Students get a chance to build their confidence through fine arts together with the team of individuals who like and practice the fine arts. Performing as a group enables students to know that everything is possible. Good performance assists them to have self-confidence and appreciate their abilities. In most cases, people are afraid to perform in public due to their past failures and these fears can easily be removed through the fine arts. When a person faces fear several times and do well the fear within them goes away, he or she will become less afraid. Playing music by students for several months gives them the confidence to become performers and talented artists. Fine art also significantly benefits to the general academic performance (Sabol 38).
Fine Art also has the same advantages of the schools just like it helps students. It is a necessary and not an elective course, and it is crucial as it boosts innovation, creativity and learning activity in the lives of the learners. Three different types of learning exist, and these are kinesthetic, visual and auditory learning. Fine arts give a chance for all these three learning styles to be looked into during the lessons. Because of these, all the students are in a position to get direct benefits from the fine arts curriculum. Not all types of learning may be used in the standard academic scenario, and therefore some students might not understand the lessons as compared to if the art was incorporated into the system (Sabol 40).
The United States commercial theater gets over almost half a billion bound every year. Seventy-five percent of writers, designers as well as the supervisors working in these commercial movies are fine arts graduates. The jobs created are a clear demonstration that fine arts are crucial to the country’s capital as well as acting as the source of tourist attraction to the country. On top of this, there is also rising proof showing how valuable arts are useful social life. Fine arts has enabled students to be bold their self-esteem. They can appreciate their race, culture as well as their family backgrounds. Fine Arts have provided them with a good site where they can develop and build their skills. People are now able to adapt understand and appreciate the word around them. It has also equipped the students with experience enabling them to understand passion beauty and the intensity of their lives (Allain 71).
Art is the basis of the nation’s creative environment. This shapes and nature’s state’s culture and accelerates the innovation. Most of the artists also act as teachers providing creative skills and training. It is through the work of arts that cultural practices are passed from one generation to another one. Few programs from both public and private sectors boost the artists. State agencies should play their role in providing information, training, and resources which can promote the artists in building and develop their career. They also need to be funded to market their ideas as well as sharing their thoughts with the others. The non-profitable organization should be provided with funding by the governments. These grants will multiply, and as a result, it will be o grants benefit to the community, as a whole.
High school education provides the social platform for shaping the lives of adolescents and through fine arts, youths have a chance to engage with their peers. Through elective participation in fine arts activities, youths make positive choices that have significant influence over their development. Fine arts expose them to practical life activities and respective solutions when they encounter difficulties. Research suggests that youths who undertake arts related studies have significant positive personal outcomes as compared to their colleges who do not study art. Arts studies thus give positive experience beyond youthfulness and into adulthood.
Over time, changes in the government regulations to the fine arts work mirror the condition of overall nation’s budget. Governors and the legislators should invest more in fine arts even during the time of economic instability and during the economic recession. If there should be cuts in funding for fine arts, then it should be the same cut as those of the other expenditure. The artistic agencies in the country are small compared those of other branches of the nation, and it has fewer resources that are shared equally among a vast population. National artworks operate with no or little reserves using all the available resurges on the arising services. This indicates that even small change in cuts to the federal funding will result in the high impact, which will mean very few youths have a chance to study arts (Allain 75).
It is important for the government to create and maintain an environment, which enables freedom through imagination, and provide financial support, which will enable the realization of creative talents (Tickle 67). The nation in the process of funding fine arts should ensure that there is equality and that all the sectors and communities despite their economic state, political view and geographical location are reasonably served. Other funding mechanisms should also meet the same goals. Legislative allocation should be used to provide the supplement to other operations. Although this line of items can be an excellent source of providing funding, it can in some instances led to disparities. Local, national funding is the principal source of arts support. It is now very clear that fine arts are important and it contributes to the economic growth of the country. Therefore, fine art should be funded just like other projects of the government.
In conclusion Fine arts are credited for the promotion of positive interpersonal skills among the youth. Through fine art performance, youths develop crucial social skills that include group participation, resolution of conflicts, inter-racial tolerance, self-control and empathy for others. The beneficiaries of positive impact are not just the bright and talented youths as it applies to all youths who undertake courses related to art. There is enough evidence supporting the fact that fine arts have a meaningful impact in the lives of America youths. Arts provide the youth with a social platform for shaping the lives of adolescents and through fine arts, youths have a chance to engage with their peers. Fine arts expose them to practical life activities and respective solutions when they encounter difficulties as youths who undertake arts related studies have significant positive personal outcomes as compared to their colleges who do not study art. Cutting funding for fine arts in American schools will expose the youth to engage in activities detrimental to their personal growth and future lives.
